The Sunset

We've always loved this place and have been making a point to come eat here for years. I'm never disappointed! Very popular restaurant. Good old down-home cooking. My husband's all-time favorite meal to get here is the cheeseburger. Mine is the Tuesday or Thursday Thanksgiving plate special! Although one day we went on a Wednesday and the special was the country style steak and that was so tender and delicious! The pecan pie was probably the best I've ever had. Cash only, but there is an ATM on site. Very clean, nice people and children friendly.

Truly a nice place. Not a very pleasant atmosphere and not a lot of choices for breakfast. The service is okay and they come up to you regularly. The food was cooked perfectly and had plenty of flavor. I would recommend this place to take your kids for a quick bite. 7.5/10 I do want to mention that you need to have plenty of cash beforehand. They don't take cards but they do take checks if you prefer that instead.

I meant to write this review 4 months ago when I visited Sunset. My friend and I were out on our motorcycles, and my friend got a flat rear tire. We were by chance right outside Sunset Restaurant without knowing it. We went in at about 2pm and the staff, although finished with the lunchtime rush, made us feel welcome. We ordered and ate good food, freshly cooked and very nicely prepared and served. The owner and other members of the public in the restaurant were knowledgeable about motorcycle tire places and phoned up to see if the mechanic was open. He was open, we got the tire fixed, and everything turned out well. It is this type of friendly and helpful staff and good old fashioned food that will ensure that I will revisit Sunset again the next time I am in Franklin.

Considering I have lived here in Franklin for years....and have never been till now! Loved it. First off make sure you have cash! Secondly, the service was as good as it gets. Plenty of seating. Pleasant atmosphere. No public WiFi. The food was great. The eggs were perfect as I ordered. Came out very quickly. Portions were plenty enough that I could bring home half. Coffee was good as well. Looking forward to going again. Well worth it. Thank you for the great experience!
