Shoneys Family Restraurant

UPDATED June 1, 2020 This Shoney's is permanently CLOSED. The building is for sale though, and can be yours for only $4,500,000 Shoney's has been around since I was a kid, if I remember correctly a man named Ray Danner started this place in Madison, Tennessee. I did not check my facts on this so forgive me if I am wrong about that. Sadly, this restaurant just can't seem to do anything to grow its clientele. Over the years they have tried new menus and offerings, but all of the ones around here that I drive by seem to have not very full parking lots. I don't understand this, because their breakfast bar is outstanding! I have gone there three times over the last couple of months, and I do not see anything except a whole lot of great food, and plenty of it. Everything on their breakfast bar is well cooked and delicious, and there is plenty of variety, even their salad bar is part of the breakfast offering. The salad bar is open all day as well. I totally dig Shoney's, give this place a try if you have not been there or it has been awhile. You'll probably like it! Very friendly and attentive staff at the Franklin, Tennessee location too.

Enjoyed our time at this Shoney's restaurant. It was myself my daughter and my granddaughter. I chose the bar and it had very tasty food and vegetables on the bar my daughter ordered a burger and it was delicious according to her and it look better than the picture which is very seldom. She said it was the best burger she had had in a very long time the grandbaby ate from my plate and kept saying it was good and she ate really good for a two year old. I don't remember the server's name but she was on top of it and extremely nice I wished I knew her name because I'd like to give her a compliment. Thank you for a wonderful lunch.

As a child, I remember going to Shoney's because it was a good place for a small poor family to get two meals in one sitting: salad bar + entree to bring home. While the buffet was still decent, if small, the price is comparable to every other buffet, which is hard on a family of 6. Still, the staff was friendly and the food quite good.

We all had the buffet. We mostly ate the breakfast part. The breakfast was on until 2:00pm along with the salad and lunch buffet. The eggs were very light and fluffy, the bacon and sausage was done to our liking. The potatoes and French toast was also good. They even had melted cheese and cooked mushrooms to add to your eggs or potatoes. The waitress was very friendly and kept coming back and asking if we needed anything. The cashier was also very friendly. If we are in the area again, we would definitely go back.
