Miso Japanese Restaurant

Best Japanese food in town! We've been long time customers where we'd come in on occasion over the years, but now we eat here or order takeout more often since we moved over to this side of town. I will say, ordering takeout is as if you're ordering for dine-in, the food is just as amazing! And we always receive wonderful service with such friendly staff! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants!

First off, as soon as I walked into the restaurant, the atmosphere was incredible. It was so welcoming and warm despite the fact that it was rather busy. The service here was some of the best I have ever received. The food here was incredibly fresh and blows all the other restaurants like it that I have been to out of the water.

First of all, Miso has some of the most fantastic food that can be found in Franklin, TN, and therefore is one of my favorite restaurants to frequent. I don’t have a single criticism about that, the atmosphere, or the staff I have encountered. So why would I leave a 1-star review of a place that I enjoy? I recently found out that the tips I have left for my servers the many times I have been there go to THE RESTAURANT. To be clear, I am NOT talking about a tip share. I am talking about ownership taking money that patrons believe they are giving to their servers and putting it in their own pockets. What makes me particularly angry in this situation is how deceitfully this has been done. There is no signage ANYWHERE in the restaurant that would indicate that tips don’t go to the servers, nor are they informed in any other way, and yet customers have a line item on their credit card bill asking for a tip like it’s a normal setup. This is the first review I have left of a restaurant in a long time, but the egregious nature of the offense warranted a response. What a disgusting treatment of your employees and your patrons…shame on you, Miso.

We tried Miso for the first time last night. This place has been here for many years and you can see why they've lasted. The food was excellent. Very extensive sushi menu as well as other traditional Japanese, Thai, and Chinese dishes. Our table had sushi, chicken fried rice, and the Bento boxes. The Bento boxes are huge with a variety of different foods. Almost like a sampler but with larger portions. The fried rice was some of the best I've had in Nashville. The service here was also great. We will be putting this on our list of regular restaurants in the Grassland area.
