I have to agree the staff comes off as being a bit rushed or some might say “Unfriendly” The food is typical or exactly the same as most small Chinese stores offer …. It is nothing special Parking is good Access to roads from their parking is good Waiting area was clean No bathrooms February 2022. Only take out available Both coke and Pepsi products available

Came in d/t reviews. 1 star to me is inedible, and i can eat anything. I ate this so it should be 2, but the chicken was a solid mass. No knife, only the cheap floppy carry out forks. So i had to shred it with those, or eat it like a crunchwrap.

We have been weekly customers of New China for the past 16 years. They are the best Chinese restaurant in Franklin, and it's not even close. When I read these negative reviews, I am absolutely gobsmacked. OK, yeah, the owners are not overly friendly, and their English is beyond terrible. But the food?? 5 🌟!! Their food is the best you will find this side of Beijing! Try the Crab Rangoons, Lo Mein, Seasame Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, General Tso chicken, fried rice, etc! I am amazed that everyone doesn't give them 5 stars!

First of all the girl up front taking orders was extremely rude. Didn’t say hello even after I awkwardly stood there for a few seconds then said hello myself. No response. She walked off. Then when I had a question about the menu she had a terse rude response. Also since when does “chow mein” not have noodles??? It literally translates to “stir fried noodles”. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant at all. You could go to any other similar restaurant in the area or even a Panda Express

I’m so sad to have to write this as this place has always been our go to for a specific vegetarian dish. About 3 weeks ago we ordered our usual (same order for the last 3 years) broccoli with garlic sauce- add tofu.. once we start eating, we immediately knew something was off. The only way to describe it is it tasted like motor oil? I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe they fried the tofu in some old oil that needed to be changed. We called the restaurant, they offered to replace it for free at our next visit and we were happy with the results. Fast forward to today… I picked up the exact same order and had high hopes that we were back on track with our favorite dish. Disappointment punched me right in the face at the first bite! Same motor oil taste as if they are using three month old oil for frying or some other liquid ingredient has gone rancid and they are continuing to use it for the sauce. Not sure what it is, I just can’t put my finger on it. All I know is that someone is going to get sick eating that mess! I’m just going to cut my losses as I can’t stomach another putrid plate of the same food, even if they offer to replace for free. I really hope that they make changes soon and pay attention to all of the recent negative reviews. Seems the place is going downhill fast and unfortunately we won’t be back for a while, if ever :(

This was our first visit on a recommendation, we placed the order to go. When we got home to Chapel Hill we realized some of the order was missing. It happens. The pork fried rice was the best we have had in a long time as was the Lo Mein. The Mongolian Beef was inedibly sweet. We drained it and made more beef sauce to replace it. It's better but the sugary flavor is all soaked into the beef. I'd definitely go back for the pork fried rice and maaaybe try something different.

We love New China and have been ordering from them for the last 7 years. We used to live down the street and have since moved 20 minutes away. There are restaurants closer but we love New China the best and it is worth the extra time to drive.

We love New China, especially the Kung Pao chicken! They're great about adjusting the level of heat in a dish to your liking. Egg rolls are fresh and crispy, never greasy.
