Shalimar

The Goat Biryani was excellent. Spicing was right on target. I asked for butter chicken and was told in their restaurant it is called chicken tikka masala, so I ordered it. It was nothing like the chicken tikka masala I have had in the past. Huge layer of ghee on the top and not much yogurt, it was just fair in my opinion. The chicken tandoori leg was overly dry, burned but nice flavor. The mixed vegetables was poor, mostly potatoes and a huge layer of ghee. The huge Nan was good but quite thick. The bread was delivered to the table in a reusable blastic basket which was nice. We dining in, they gave us a togo bag to our table and then you have to go and get your own plate and plastic cutlery. You have to pick up your drinks from the cooler.

First time visiting this restaurant. The place is completely run down. The lighting is extremely poor. No cleaniness . The food is decent although some of the dishes like Nihari have excessive overflowing oil. The Naan we ordered was cold and appeared to be sitting out for a while. What makes me a little baffled is that this restaurant has nonstop business and they must be making really good money but unfortunately it is clear that they don't care about how it looks or how inconvenient the dine-in experience is. Even if you are dining in, your food is packed in to-go boxes and you are given one small paper plate per person. It's better to do a takeaway here. They really need to renovate asap otherwise some customers won't return here after their initial experience. No Covid protocols are being followed here and you will have to clean up your own table before you sit down.

How they are maintaining quality food in Fremont Shalimar and prices all heavy but nothing good 1.Butter chicken-one two pieces with large spicy stick 2.Naan 6 ordered but two of them fully burned 3. My wife found aluminum metal piece in that chicken curry 4. Chicken biryanis rice fully not cooked and no chicken pieces I think the management must care about food quality and quantity of size and you are not providing free anything so people like me expect what we pay for food.

They have the best barbecue / tandoori chicken that I have ever eaten and I've had Indian/Pakistani barbecue in several places around the world! They are very customer focused and pleasant I'll always come back! And while you wait for your delicious meal you get to have as many cups of delicious chai tea as you like!
