Sushi Yat

The actual place is small but seatings is decent. Food is tasty and generous. We ordered saba bento and nigiri set. Fish was grilled nicely and tasty. Sashimi included was fresh and decent in size. Rice is a little bit on the small side but other things like edamame and sushi were generous too. All of the 12 pieces in the nigiri set were good, we got tuna belly. Sashimi felt fresh and thick cut.

The only upside was that the mother of the restraunt was willing to compromised . I went on a Tuesday after noon as soon as I walked in they said they only have sushi left everything else was sold out . So my fiance and I said okay that's fine . I ordered a Philadelphia roll which suppose to come with "smoked salmon" however whenever I got my roll it was raw I didn't realize it until I ate one . I told my fiance he tried it and complained to the daughter and son . The son flat out told us "no you cannot get another roll cause you ate it already." My fiance got upset and asked for the bill . Then I told them it was suppose to be smoked salmon instead of raw salmon. Then they told me right there that they are out of smoked salmon , well if they knew they were out of smoked salmon they should of told us from the begining . Horrible customer service , the mother offered a regular California roll but even then the sushi was not good I have had better sushi. Would not go back there ever again. I recommend somewhere else .

I only give this one star because of the quality of the food. And need to warn you that the taste is not even close to any so called Japanese cuisine. Even very basic elements do not meet basic requirement. I ordered a chicken terriyaki ( called sizziling hot plate here). The chicken itself was ok, but too much onion that is not cooked underneath. It was like grilled chicken on the top of a lot of fresh onion and carrot ( or chicken onion salad). The worst part was the rice. It did not tastes even close to that cooked by a person who does not cook like me. For the above reason i only gave one star. Also be aware that the price online is not up-to-date. And cash only ( they did let us know before we sat down)

The previous owner; Christine and her husband did an amazing job and I enjoyed eating there quite often. Now that there are new owners; the food doesn't taste the same and actually tastes bland and somewhat under cooked. I won't be returning and if the previous owners relocated, I'd rather drive out to their new location then return to this place.
