Customs House

Was hoping for a lovely lunch, overall it was pretty terrible. The food portions were tiny for the price, the food was tough or cold and the menu descriptions did not match the food served. We ordered the whole Lemon roasted Bannockburn chicken with cucumber salad and tzatziki as recommended to serve 2 people. I doubt it was a whole chicken, the taziki was just enough for presentation and the cucumber salad was a cucumber chopped in half on the plate, no salad. We were warned that the octopus was small by the waitress but it was 2 small pieces with a base, and again a parsley "salad" of sprinkled leaves on the top. The Greek salad we got as a side was the best part of the meal! I believe they were going for fine dining food but with a casual restaurant vibe, it hasn't worked out for them. I don't recommend this place.

Service was great and staff were really friendly. Food however was a big disappointment. Way over priced, small on portion size and low on flavour. The “Greek fries” were the best part of our order and they were just over cooked store bought chips. Definitely won’t come back, feel bad for the staff having to serve that rubbish.

Went for a lunch on Saturday. The reservation outside was ready and waiting, the staff were friendly and prompt. The meals arrived in a timely manner. The calamari was lovely as was the saganaki. That said, the chicken souvlaki was very disappointing. Only two very small slices of chicken with a meagre salad wrapped in bread was presented. 👎 In my opinion the souvlaki was underwhelming and it did not represent value for money. I expected more from a Greek restaurant. I'm sure other dishes would have been better.

Very poor customer service. We booked online and it allowed us to choose the al a carte menu. We did not want the set menu. When we arrived the wait staff were nice and immediately served us the set menu. We explained that we booked the normal menu. They said it had happened a few times that night already. The manager then said it was our fault. So we left. The drinks list had about 10 items on it. The first drink we ordered they didn’t have! Very poorly run. We spoke to other customers. The set menu they received wasn’t good. There are MANY more restaurants that are better in Geelong. Don’t go here.
