Saramago Cafe At The Cca

It has been almost 6 months since my visit to Scotland and I can still remember my meal at Saramago... Not only one of the best meals in Glasgow but one of the best vegan meals I have ever had. Layered flavors with inventive pairings made this meal a stand out on anyone’s trip. Almost all the tables were booked in advance, not having reservations still allowed us to enjoy a meal until the next reservation for our table began. We also sat for the theater prices special. It’s priced incredibly well with huge portions that would almost be enough food for 2. The cocktails are not to be missed and they have a few local beers on tap that were highly enjoyable.

We love this place! The food is fresh and delicious. The staff will work with you to accommodate your dietary tastes needs. And, they are lovely people. As whole food/plant based people, it is our number one place to eat in Glasgow. The environment is inspiring to say the least, as it is at the Center for Contemporary Arts. Love it.

It’s a shame that it took almost an hour for our food. It tasted delicious and the ingredients were top-notch to be fair! Other than that, the entire place felt a bit pretentious. We did not understand half of the words on the menu. Maybe because we are uneducated plebs. Staff is colder than the Glaswegian weather.
