Bar Soba Merchant City

It had been a while since I’d been to Soba, and my last experience here hadn’t been amazing. However, I loved this visit. The food was tasty, the service was attentive, the atmosphere is good. The outdoor table meant the food got cold quite quickly…but also, we could have chosen to sit inside so that’s not on Soba! It can be quite pricey for the amount of food, but I don’t mind when it’s decent.

We had a group boozy brunch. The deal is great especially with the 4 cocktails included in the price. The food was lovely and good portion size. Only issue was the service was a tad patchy and took a bit of time but the staff were courteous and lovely and when its cocktails service always takes a tad longer. It just felt like the bar could have had more staff to assist with table service as well as the bar .

Although it was a little quiet, Bar Soba is fantastic, and with the discount as a student was very affordable! I’ve been in a few times and every time it’s been fantastic. My server, Theo, was particularly good and gave me good recommendations and was very nice to speak to! Service was quick and the food was very tasty. One of my goto restaurants when I’m with friends.

Food was excellent particularly the tofu katsu curry, could go it again right now in fact. French fries far too salty. Reasonable priced with most dishes around £13. Drinks ordered were a bit of a let down as very slow to hit the table. Food was out the kitchen before drinks arrived. Server although attentive was eager to move us on so felt a bit rushed. Mojito was on point. Look forward to revisiting and scoring this place 5/5.

Recently visited Bar Soba with a group of work friends following a team building afternoon. The menu looked great which was welcomed given a number of people in party are VERY fussy eaters and particular about where they go. The food was stunning, freshly made and they tailored some dishes to our likes. Eg, no chilli, no prawns, etc etc. We loved it so much, 2 of us returned the following evening to eat again. Which was just as nice. I highly recommend the Singapore Noodles and Chicken Goyoza

I recently visited and tasted the Red Thai Curry with tofu, and let me tell you, the taste was absolutely amazing! From the moment I took my first bite, I was blown away by the explosion of flavors that danced on my palate. The tofu was cooked to perfection, with a delicate texture that absorbed the rich and creamy curry sauce. Each bite was a delightful combination of the tofu's subtle creaminess and the vibrant spices of the curry. The dish had just the right amount of heat, adding a tantalizing kick without overpowering the other flavors. The red Thai curry itself was a masterpiece. It was fragrant, with a perfect balance of aromatic herbs and spices. The flavors of lemongrass, ginger, and garlic blended seamlessly, creating a symphony of tastes that was both bold and harmonious. The creamy coconut milk added a luxurious richness, giving the curry a velvety smoothness that coated every bite. The dish was also accompanied by a medley of fresh vegetables, including bell peppers, carrots, and snow peas. These vegetables added a satisfying crunch and a burst of vibrant color to the curry, enhancing both its taste and presentation. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the Red Thai Curry with tofu. The flavors were incredibly satisfying, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. I would highly recommend this dish to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying Thai curry experience.
