Great wee pub sits at Eglinton toll in Glasgow lunch well yer cannie whack it 3 course meal for£4 cheaper than a day tripper ticket to the toon lol

The iconic Star Bar at Eglinton Toll, famous for the cheapest 3 course meal in Glasgow.
After 40 years, they reluctantly raised prices!
It is now a whopping £4 for a three course meal. I know!
Dined there today and although never likely to win a Michelin Star, it was decent nosh at an incredible price.
Andrea the manager, server, head honcho was like the Tasmanian Devil.
So efficient yet very attentive. Very friendly. Looked after our party of 7 so well.
No complaints.
A piece of Glasgow history that lives on and thrives still.

Definitely not a novelty place. I'm a bit of a regular being someone who lives in the area and I'm aware people my age are like "ooo £4 3 course meal old man pub how quirky" but it's great. Lunches are great value, pints are good, staff and punters are nice, jukebox and pub quiz machine are there, always people playing pool. I could easily spend a whole day there and not notice the time passing

Not as good as I remember. The soup was really nice. I chose the turkey roast . Gravy was very gloopy and they'd run out of mash but we did turn up 30 minutes before they stopped serving. My friend had the macaroni and cheese with chips and peas, cheese sauce was very watery. Jelly and ice cream was fine. Three course lunch for £4, I don't suppose you can complain.

Decent portions ,child friendly, and extremely easy on the pocket ,and the very hard working staff are very friendly
