Kimmyz On Green Way

KIMMYZ is an extraordinary establishment. The food is great and reasonably priced. The service is beyond excellent as the servers are extremely friendly and most accommodating. I particularly like Tuesday night when Tina runs the open mike. Tina is super talented (with a marvelous voice) and allows aspiring musicians who who won't be able to perform on the big stage, perform on the KimmyZ stage which makes the amateur performers feel like pros. Always a great time. Love the live music and the reasonable prices. Open mic is a fun time. Owner is smart, funny, and easy on the eyes. 😘 I saw that an individual gave a negative review about open mic night. They clearly don't understand how it works. There are many open mics around the valley. They are similarly structured. You arrive, sign up, and go up to play usually 2-3 songs. This typically burns 12-15 minutes. If 12 people sign up, you have 2-3 hours of play time. If people get up, tune their guitar, hook up effects, and start yakking between songs, it impinges on others. Playing a ten minute song and talking is rude and inconsiderate of others. I have been to a couple other open mics and noted that even arriving early, the list was full with literally nobody in the bar. Not the case with Kimmyz. Tina runs a tight ship, and she's a good entertainer.

I'm usually at Kimmy'z for the Tuesday Acoustic Open Mic's which has been happening for years.The staff has always been a friendly bunch, if your a regular they'll have your beverage ready before you order it and Taco Tuesday is the bomb. I recommend the Fish. Tuesdays are especially fun with the Acoustic Open Mic sponsored by Tina Bailey. You get to meet a variety of local musicians who live in the Valley that get their opportunity to shine on stage for 10 minutes. I've learned so much from these musicians.
