Glendale Diner

We ordered a Reuben Sandwich and Mushroom Salad at Glendale Diner. The food and service was OK, but the place was falling apart and the owner didn't seem to care. We put coins into the jukebox, but apparently it was broken. The owner came by and he refused to acknowledge the problem or refund our money.

What happened to this place? it's so sad to see the quality of their food and service compared to what it was 16 years ago. From middle school to highschool (2006-11) I would stop by this place at least twice a week for a hamburger deluxe. It was the go-to spot for a good burger. Long story short I moved out of New York in 2012. I came back to my old neighborhood for a visit. I decided to stop by and try to relive a memory. It took nearly 30min just to get me seated. Due to they fact I was dining alone, but they still were not that busy and they had many open seats. I ended up ordering a burger. The burger was beyond well done. It was leathery and musty. The bun was burnt. I was very disappointed. Not to mention the place was not kept clean. It's like their was a thin film of grease on every surface and the places that there wasn't grease, there was dust. It breaks my heart to see this place like this. I had so many good memories there with friends and family.

This place is pretty decent, pricing is reasonable, food is ok, servers are pleasant but the guy who does the takeout orders is just the most unpleasant miserable looking person. Witnessed him being rude & sarcastic to the employees. Overheard him complaining about an order a customer put in. Just extremely unprofessional. He definitely needs a course in customer service.

Stick to the diner basics and you won’t be disappointed. Breakfast/lunch is wonderful! two eggs option, pancakes, french toast, paninis, wraps, triple deckers, milkshakes, ice tea, coffee, burgers, etc. This advice is extremely true at any diner. If it's a good diner all of the basics will be excellent. This is why Glendale Diner is top notch. The staff is extremely friendly and its a really fun environment. Happy to have this in the neighborhood since it's one of my favorite places to eat. Only question.. Why don't the juke boxes work at the tables? I wish that was fixed!!
