Romano's Macaroni Grill

I'm giving 2 stars because the server was excellent, 2nd salad, and peach tea were pretty good. Everything else was terrible!! The Italian chopped salad was just not good. I love salad but I couldn't eat this one. I had it replaced with the Parmesan Chicken salad which was really tasty. I also ordered the Penne Rustica which seemed promising it had shrimp, chicken, and prosciutto. Sounded delicious but in reality it was not very flavorful it was dry and overbaked. I was on my lunch break my coworkers took me out for my birthday lunch. I didn't have enough time to reorder anything else so I ate as much as I could. I added plenty of salt and pepper to give it some type of flavor. My coworker oredered the truffle macaroni amd the same thing she said it was really bland and dry. I did try it and it literally had no real flavor to it. How do you mess up maceroni and cheese? You're name is Maceroni Grill! I told my coworker I can make way better Italian at home for a lot less money. Our server did bring me a free dessert for my birthday which I appreciated but that too wasn't really good. This was our 1st time eating here and it will be the last. I love Italian food but this has to be the worst I've had!

I used to eat at a macaroni grill when I was younger and I had memories of it being so much better. When I ordered I asked if it was possible to get a half order of 2 different entrees (which isn't a difficult task) and the server said the best she could do is a kids size, so I ended up just getting a normal size of the fetticcini Alfredo with shrimp. When it arrived it was barely warm, the pasta was undercooked, and the Alfredo sauce was too thick and didn't have much flavor but the shrimp was nice even though there were only like 5 pieces. Paying $30 at lunch for this quality is kinda a joke, might as well go to Olive garden or something.
