The Toasted Frog

Was one of the best restaurants in GFK, loved it 10 years ago. The food quality is very good then and the dishes are amazing. Came back again and ordered a walleye dish. The food is still very tasty but the sugar peas coming with it is too old to chew. Talk to the waitress and got an apology and that's it. I remember the service being better for mistake like this before. Disappointed at the food quality control. Hope they are not too famous to focus on what makes a good restaurant.

My daughter and I visited this place Friday evening. We each ordered fancy drinks and they were delicious. My drink wasn't what I ordered but I enjoyed it. We couldn't decide what we wanted to eat and then our server patiently explained a few different options and we ordered a Lavosh split in half, one side for each of us. Well. Let's just say we didn't box up what we didn't eat. Our server, Louie, was very attentive and took the very best care of us! The customer service was A+ and my daughter has said she'll definitely go back. I don't live in Grand Forks so I don't know if I'll be back but I would wholeheartedly recommend this place. Love the ambience, love the service! THANK YOU, LOUIE!

Four of us waited for about an hour and 20 minutes to get our meal. The waitress offered no apology. When the food arrived, mine was lukewarm and the pork was half done. She said she would take it back and get me a new one, again with no apology. I asked to speak to the manager. He came up and said that that was the way they cook their pork - that they don't fully cook it! He offered no apology, nor to rectify the bill, which should have been taken care of. After a lengthy wait, and while everyone was finishing up their dinner I flagged the waitress. She said my meal should be coming up right away and I ask for it to be boxed up, and to please remove the charges on my bill. The service was comparable to the last time I was there about four years ago. I will not be visiting this establishment again.

Literally waited over two hours on a Monday night. Hostess told us 45-1hr and at 1:15 we walked in and checked on our status and she said ‘there’s still ppl ahead of you’. On the wait list all the names ahead of us were crossed off, we finally got a call TWO HOURS after we were told 45- to 1 hour. No apology to call to let us know that it would be a longer wait, nothing. The food is great, however that was exceptionally rude & inconsiderate. Train your hostess or get a new one who can assess table turnover time.
