River Rising

I love this place. The food is so delicious and they have many things I can eat which is hard because I can't do gluten. Their wheat free cookies are second to none and their salads are some of my favorite salads ever. Most importantly the staff is so friendly and kind and they make my day when I go in there. I love the atmosphere and there's always friendly faces to see which sometimes sidetracks me because I could easily spend an afternoon in here, lol.

Employees never seem to care about their service. New review... my wife loves going here and we usually meet for lunch every 2 or 3 weeks. Add breakfast and or coffee and there are more frequent visits. Today I had an experience that left me talking to one of the managers and saying I would likely never come back. I ordered an Italian sandwich (a menu item). The person taking the order asked something that made me clarify at which I stated "The special Italian". The server delivered the daily special sandwich (a bacon wrapped popper sandwich) and I immediately told her that was wrong. She apologized and said she would let me try the one she brought and then make an Italian (that I ordered) to go. She then returned and said the manager would not replace the sandwich unless I paid for the Italian. I declined. I tried the sandwich and did not care for it. Then the manager came to the table and after talking to me, said she felt i might be entitled to the correct sandwich, but the 2nd manager felt that the mistake was mine and I would not be given another sandwich unless I paid for it. I explained that I felt like that was very poor customer service and I would not be returning. She said she understood and went back to work. My first review was that the wait staff didn't seem to care about their service. I guess it starts at the top and now I understand it is just the customer service as provided here. Sad that in a small town, I need to find another go to place. I hope others have better experiences here.

Call down to this place and you don't even get to say one word before they put you on hold. 5 minutes later they hang up on you and when you call back they put you on hold again without any ability to speak. The worst customer service I have seen in a long time almost rude. I will never go there again
