Golden Corral

MY WIFE AND I LOVE GOING TO GOLDEN CORRAL , IT JUST SO HAPPENS THAT MY WIFE AND I DECIDED TO GO FOR A RIDE WITH HER SISTER , JUST TO GET AWAY FROM THE HOUSE , AND WE DECIDED TO STOP BY GOLDEN CORRAL , EVERY THING WAS VERY GOOD , BUT THE STEAK'S WERE A LITTLE ON THE SALTY SIDE , BUT COOK WAS VERY YOUNG , SO I CHALK IT UP TO EXPERIENCE , HEY AT LEAST HE IS WORKING , THEIR ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE SITTING AT HOME , THEY CAN'T SAY I CAN'T FIND A JOB .

7/6/2021 Well... looks like it's over... didn't take long. Empty containers on the bar at dinner time, steaks burning on the grill in flames, and no one around. Finally a young kid comes to the grill and hands me a raw steak. I won't be back. Sad how quickly it went down. Previously... When I come to Golden Corral, I expect a good selection of hot food at a good price... and that's what we got here. Looks like the out-of-town store opening crew is still in the house, but let's hope they can keep the service at this level after they leave. I rated them at 5 because they do exactly what I expected. The steaks were good, but just remember, it's a buffet and grill not a steakhouse. They definitely blow away the old tenants of this location. Even the chocalate fountain was kicking it!

I was here about 3 months ago. I only came back because my 2 sons wanted to try it and that’s why I rated it 3 stars. Otherwise, I would have rated it 2 stars. Last time the steak was tough and again it was tough. The baked ham was too salty and had some fat in it. the pot roast was over cooked. The dirty rice had so little ground beef, I thought it was seasoned rice, until I saw the little sign above it. The chicken and dumplings weren’t good. The ice cream machine was out of order. I seem to remember the last time I was there, it was out of order, but I’m not sure. The fudge was good and the chocolate pie okay and and the pecan pie was good. The fried chicken was good. To be fair my sons enjoyed all but the steak (one son did say the steak was kind of tough). At least get some better quality steak if you’re going to include it in your commercials and put a reasonable amount of ground beef in the dirty rice.

I was very disappointed. Everything I ate was wonderful and the service was great, but the entrees were definitely lacking. In the past, I always like the Bourbon Chicken, but they didn't have it. The tace section didn't even have taco meat. I ended up with a large salad and tasted a couple of the deserts. But even then, the salad bar didn't have green olives.

We visited 4/30 after a family gathering. The hostess was so sweet, patient and kind. The restaurant was fairly clean. The first waitress wasn't too understanding of the fact that we wanted to sit together at two large tables versus four smaller tables. Turns out this was because us being at the larger tables would take us out of her section. We sat at the larger tables. When we met out new waitress, we realized we'd made a great decision. I wish I could remember her name, but it escapes me, so I'll describe her. She's caucasian, average height, young, vibrant eye shadow with long black hair, and thin frames. You'll be lucky to get her a a waitress because she was very attentive to all 14 of us! It drinks were never low and our tables were never filled with dirty plates. The 3 stars are due to the food at the buffet. The people who put the food out was putting fresh food on top of the old food. That's nasty and unsanitary. Because of my heart condition, I asked my server to grab my food fresh from the kitchen to avoid me getting sick. She gladly did. We spark up a conversation and we found we had similar stories with one of each of our children. I'll call the restaurant and try to get her name to at it to this review, but she's the one! If we go back after our next visit to Hammond, we'll eat there only if she's still there!

Worst restaurant experience i have ever had. We had to track down our server every time we needed anything from drinks to a knife. Bathrooms were absolutely gross. Asked to speak to the manager and got told to have a good night and he just walked off, Because we said we were there for 1 hour most of that time was waiting for something or looking for out server. They were cleaning the glass above the food with windex while there was still food under the glass and sprayed the windex right at the food. Never had a worse experience in my life at a restaurant.
