Green Man Pub

We arrived and we were told our table was not ready and asked to go into the bar to get a drink the bar was full with just one person serving so we did not bother to have a drink. We went back to the restaurant and we were taken to our table from then on the service was impeccable and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend unless you want a drink before your meal however you can always have one at your table like we did.

Great atmosphere in a quiet village. Perfect for a lovely break and some casual walking. Very well decorated pub and dining room and rooms are comfortable and clean, Staff are very helpful although maybe they seemed very busy (short staffed?). Very popular so dinner booking may be needed. Menu and food seems great but we had a few minor (easy fix) misses (peas and bacon were not good) but everything else we tried was excellent. Definately will go again.

The food was good and the staff had good humour. The dessert menu did tempt me and was an enjoyable challenge on top of a generous main course but worth it as it wasn't what I'd usually have. The variety of desserts is pretty good so I felt I really should explore. I found the parking to be a bit of a challenge, partly due to the size of the vehicle but also the spaces are not that easy to access with hedges sectioning and a tree's limbs being broken and obstructing the few spaces that I could fit into. But let's not allow that to detract from the service and food.

Had a lovely family meal at the Green Man in Old Harlow. It was busy for a Tuesday evening but staff were attentive & Lauren was super helpful throughout & sorting the bill for us. Lauren was really helpful letting us serve a birthday cake & helping light it. Food was delicious & children & adults super happy. Can’t wait to go back.

Relaxing stay I visited Harlow for a wedding. I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. I stayed in room 209 a little weary after reading a review that its was a “hot box” with just a fan to keep it cool. The room was beautiful. Extremely aesthetically pleasing. Bathroom was absolutely gorgeous and the cleanliness of both the room and bathroom was excellent! The room was indeed quite hot but then it was 32° the weekend I stayed and I found after a cold shower and leaving the fan on I was quite comfortable. Slept on top of all the covers quite comfortably. No complaints. There was all the usual amenities; tea, coffee and biscuits, and even complimentary chocolates from what I think is the management, as there was a little note, saying from Joe. All in in all no complaints. Had a wonderful and peaceful stay.

I booked the restaurant on recommendation from friends as a surprise for my daughters 18th birthday. The Green Man were able to accommodate 18 of us! We had the stable room and part of the restaurant, but tucked away, so only we were in there. The staff are really friendly & so helpful. They went above and beyond, allowing the cake to be dropped off early and offering to store it in their chiller. They allowed guests to arrive a little early to decorate the tables & set up. Anything they could help with, they did! Huge thanks to Janna & Jacob. They really made the evening for us & my daughter The food was delicious & nice portions! Highly recommended. We will definitely be visiting again!
