Sometimes in life you just get lucky. After pulling of the interstate for gas we googled lunch me. A-1 Deli was a delightful experience. Wonderful food, maybe too large of portions and an amazing staff. I'll go out of my way too stop back Everytime I'm in the area. Heads up. They close the first two weeks off July.

Excellent Ruben sandwich and the steak fries were perfectly made! Highly recommend this restaurant. I have never been dissatisfied in the years I have been going here. Fast and super friendly

Interesting experience. Called on St. Patty's day to pre-order 3 corned beef dinners. Staff was rushed and almost rude over the phone once they finally answered, that took about 30 rings. Food was excellent and I'd definitely order from there again. The only bad thing I could say other than the guy who answer the phone, they forgot to put corned beef on one of our dinners. I would still recommend the food but we'll see how the next encounter goes.

A delicious NY sirloin cooked to order with a mound of mashed potatoes and a fresh salad. Freshly brewed coffee and an amazing number of desserts to choose from. Nice family atmosphere

Amazing food and great portions!! They've been there a long time now. A true downtown Haverhill classic. I visit everytime I go back home. I hope they never close those doors and hope to forever see the A1 sign stay in downtown. The owners and staff are really good people. Thanks for being a symbol of Haverhill guys!

This is not the place to go if you're looking for fancy or table service it's more like a cafeteria. But if you want well-prepared hearty food at a reasonable price you will not go wrong here. While I don't go here often I have been going here for 40 years and never been disappointed.
