Friendly's

Decided to order Friendly’s to go as we had just came from a bonfire and didn’t want to smell up the restaurant. Get to our house with 2 Munchie manias for them to have 3 mozzarella sticks and 9 fries. No marinara or sour cream/salsa in sight and spent at least 20 minutes past our pick up time waiting inside for our food. This looks more like a public school lunch than $30+ worth of food from a once loved establishment.

One by one these restaurants are shutting down. Years ago you couldn’t go through a town without seeing at least one or two of these restaurants. For a long time they kept customers happy, fed, and coming back for more. As a kid you always looked forward to a Cone Head sundae after lunch or dinner. Friendly's was always a family place where you knew what you were getting and it was great. NOT ANYMORE. It’s too bad that the current leadership of this company can’t see the trends. The service is always horrible, slow, and unprofessional. They have to know this… Why stay open when they are all dying? They don't care, try, or intervene with issues. If you are ever looking for a modern day freak-show, walk into this restaurant in Haverhill, MA. The service is so bad its funny. When we were last at the restaurant, a worker yelled in the middle of eating “WHO DRIVES A BLUE SUV!!!!” Everyone was in shock and nobody answered. Have ZERO clue why she was yelling that, but she did… Bizarre place. The waitress’s went around telling people that the head cook “walked out” so food is delayed- how professional is that!? Weird…. Below picture is how busy it was when we waited 1+ hour for food…. Probably because of the cook walking out.

I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat with my kids and they were determined to go to Friendly's. So I caved. We got seated quickly & our server Stephanie was fast to the table. She got us in, fed and out quicker than I expected. I was impressed that she didn't even need to write anything down & didn't make a mistake even with our requests. Whole staff was great, the manager even came out to ask us how we we're doing. She was really great with the kids.

Love this location! Our server Stephanie was phenomenal! The best service we have had in a long time. She was very knowledgeable and gave special attention to the children and elderly in our party. My grandmother, who is very frail and doesn't get out much, was infatuated with Stephanie, and she did not make us feel like we were ever a bother. She was personable and gave great recommendations, she even made our sundaes extra special. We will be returning and requesting to sit in her section! The food was fresh and flavorful, portions wee decent and you can't beat the price!

Friendly's is always a favorite in our home. It was especially enjoyable with Wendy waiting on us. She jumped right into the comedic culture of our family. She was quick, attentive and made sure everything was perfect. We greatly enjoyed our experience. The food was really yummy and ice cream perfect. Definitely will come back asking for Wendy.

I went to this Friendly's last Sunday with my family. The host and waiter we had were very kind and attentive... but during our visit, we saw two mice in the dining area. Both of the mice skirted around costumers that were seated and caused most to leave. The staff closed the dining area to all new costumers. Normally my family loves this restaurant. It's extremely kid friendly and has great workers, but the mice are obviously a problem that has to be dealt with immediately.
