Le Clec

We made a 30-minute trip to visit Le Clec as we've always had a good experience on our past visits. On arrival (2.30pm), however, we were surprised and disappointed to be informed that the cafe had closed for the day (Zomato/Instagram/Google pages indicate 4pm as closing time - this might need to be updated!) Hoping this is a one-off. The food, despite a non-extensive menu, has always been tasty, with the iced mocha particularly memorable.

Had a pretty bad morning that costed my soul, but this shop saved me. It was an impulsive move to go inside, but there were no regrets. The food here is excellent! I ordered an Iced Mocha with Ice Cream and Son-in-Law Benedict. ICED MOCHA - Five Stars. The presentation is just so beautiful. The taste is even more beautifuller (*lol jk, but it real). The blend compliments all the ingredients (the coffee, ice cream, chocolate). It's just spot-on. SON IN LAW BENEDICT- Another fantastic meal. The presentation, the hollandaise sauce, the poached eggs, oh my. Just perfect! I have to talk about the ambiance too! The space is really relaxing. Makes you feel that you are in another place. I even forgot the bad traffic at Glenferrie Road. LOL! Amongst all, what I really wanted to highlight is the staff service. The staffs are amazing! Their friendly company and service made the sad-person-me feel much better. They were pretty receptive or empathetic too to know that I am feeling down. They cheered me up and was very kind to me. Those actions were very impactful to me and I wanted them to know that it meant so much to me. If only I was able to get their names to highlight them here in my review. Will be coming back soon for sure! x

Le Clec is a wonderful place to chill out. The 3 different seating areas are great, especially the dog friendly courtyard with its plants. Fans for hot days & heaters for the cold make it comfortable on any day. The food is delicious particularly the Pork Belly Benedict, Granola, Avocado... just the whole menu really. Their coffee is the best in Hawthorn! But the 'icing on the cake' is the staff. The welcome they give regulars, their friendly professionalism & efficiency is second to none. My favourite place!

What a beautiful cafe on Glenferrie Road! The back courtyard is impressive and you wouldn’t think that this place is the size that it is from its shop front ( Side note: Have a look at my video below of the place) There are 2 tables and a barrier at the front of the cafe making it pup friendly, which is a win! Our server was wonderful and welcoming! She gave us recommendations and took us through the menu. Helped us choose the right amount of food and they were brilliant dishes! My favourite which I highly recommend is the penna cotta. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her poke bowl and iced chocolate. The owner of the cafe also came to say hi and was hospitable. Plenty of off street and side street parks and being a Kew local, I’ll be back again. Thank you for the lovely experience.
