Driving through Hays on our way home to Colorado and needed a sit-down meal outside the car. El Dos was a pleasant surprise right off I-70. Service was friendly and efficient, we got our food quickly, and everything was fresh and delicious. The $3.99 Grand Marnier Margarita was very good, too! (The driver did not get to try it, of course). Highly recommend and would definitely stop there again.

I got the Don Burrito with steak. The food came out fast, the tortilla was soft, the sauce great, and the burrito tasty. Would recommend especially if traveling.

Everything was watered down.. Queso, salsa and beans. Service was fine and the place was clean but the food was just tolerable.

Delicious 😋 and cheap, Carne Asada 14.70 togo plus drink ,very convenient if you rush, for me I'm the truck 🚚 driver super fast and friendly service

Wow! We were road tripping from Missouri to Colorado. We decided to stay over in Hays, Kansas. The hotel was across the street from this restaurant. Decided to go in and check it out, WOW!! Food was awesome! The staff was amazing! Super friendly, service was prompt, food piping hot!

I've yet to stumble upon a homegrown Mexican restaurant in the Midwest that does it right. This one also failed. The chile relleno was wrapped in a sort of crepe and the internal cheese was liquid, not gooey. The tamale and enchilada both tasted like gingerbread for some reason. On the plus side the salsa was OK. I hate to give a negative review to a hometown restaurant, but perhaps they had an off night (it was day after Christmas) and perhaps they can make some needed changes.

When I pulled up I was a little nervous but I am so glad I went in. This restaurant is exactly what you need when you're traveling. Excellent and affordable. Clean and friendly. I might even go out of my way on another trip to visit again.
