Applebee's

Ate here last night with significant other. Experience always seems very hit or miss. The staff are nice enough but I'm not sure they're either a) trained well or b) empowered to do anything to resolve customer issues. Background: I got an 8 oz sirloin with garlic mashed potatoes and mac/cheese. Companion got the Asian grilled chicken salad. I had a draft beer and companion had water. The good: Steak was tender (I know Applebee's doesn't use the best cuts of meat). Garlic mashed potatoes are always good. Server was nice and fast. The bad: The first negative of the night was the piece of slime that was in the head of my beer. I told the server it looked like the lines need cleaning and showed her what I picked out of my mug. She said she'd tell the bartender and that was the end of it. Never heard a thing back. No "ugh, that's horrible...sorry", no manager stopping by, no bartender swinging by our table to apologize, no "here, can I replace that with a bottled beer"...nothing. Medium steak was well-done (charred is more like it). Mac and cheese wasn't melted (looked like someone put a handful of shredded cheddar on top and out of the kitchen it went). Companion said the chicken strips on her salad tasted like they were from yesterday (cold, hard, and tasting of old oil in deep fryer). While I don't think they were a day old I do think a) the oil needs changing, b) the salad was prepped way before my steak was done, c) the chicken was over cooked, and d) it all sat in the window for at least 15 minutes before our order came to the table. Bottom line: This place is so hit or miss. We will try it again for lunch at least because, let's face it, Henderson has so few non-fast food options. Monday nights are like death in this town with half the food options closed anyway, the places that are open get business by default. If I lived in Evansville I probably wouldn't go back here, but it is what it is.

While waiting for food, we saw a group get seated at a table that had not yet been wiped down. Appetizer was served at the same time as the meal. My date's food was cold. I received the wrong side (which was served still in the bag they microwaved it in!). To fix the issue, she waitress took the bag off of my plate! I then had to repeatedly remind her for my mashed potatoes until after I was already done with my food! Also had to ask for a knife for my steak at least 3 times... No refills were given to either of us... Would give 0 stars if possible...

Celebrated our 53rd Anniversary with dinner at Applebee's...... it was GREAT My steak was grilled perfectly, just right, and very tender. The loaded potatoes were so delicious. The broccoli was steamed just right. Our Server was so nice and helpful. We split a Butter Pecan Blondie, that was the perfect ending to a perfect celebratory dinner. Thank You for a Great Anniversary Dinner. 👍👍👏👏❤❤❤❤❤❤

SUPER DEAL ON LATE NIGHT APPETIZERS! All half price so went back 2 nights in a row during our stay in KY. Ordered every single appetizer as a celebration (and for fun😁) and still LESS EXPENSIVE than 1 pizza pie down the road😳 All were really delicious sometimes surprising for these "big box" restaurant chains. Pretzels with beer cheese, wonton tacos (i know sounds not good but surprised us with great flavor) terrific nachos, wings, all scrumptious. BUT my favorite was the margarita that they serve with the shaker! Loved it being able to pour my own drink and a surprisingly large one as well. Only needed one😁 Great nights with friendly bar like atmosphere in the bar area. Just overall a great night at a great place. If lived in the area we know it would be our "go to" place
