Dread Life Kitchen

First time visiting today for lunch after being told about this restaurant by a friend. We were not disappointed & will definitely be back! The Smoked Wings were flavorful & tender. We tried Teriyaki & Jerk. We also tried the Fried Okra and added Garlic Parmesan when the cashier told us it was her favorite way to eat it. Very tasty! Planning on going back and taking family and friends. There are several more menu items we want to try such as the Brisket and also the Tacos. Great food & service!

Really enjoyed our lunch at DLK☺️ We had seen them on Restaurant Impossible and were excited to stop in. We were very warmly welcomed upon entering and the place is charming. Was neat to see what Chef Irvine & his team had done with the place and Ray & his team are taking great care of it. I ordered the fried salmon bites, collard greens, sweet potato tots & sweet tea, and my hubby ordered a dozen wings, patty mely, fried okra, and coke zero. We satbdown at a cozy 2-seater table, but our sweet waitress said with all the food coming, we would have much elbow room & she wanted to let us know. We took her word and moved to a 4-seater table nearby. She was right! Omg! Great servings for great price (as you can see from pics) and it was delicious! The salmon bites were paired with a spicy Asian sauce that was delicious, the greens were perfect, and those tender tots were perfect. My hubby really enjoyed his patty melt (as did I when I tasted it!)that was flavorful and hit you from the first taste of the crisp tender bread rich with butter. I kept stealing his okra, which was also just right and ate at least half his wings! Lol. Said I was hungry!!! We will be back again as I want to try out his ox tail as well as the catfish bites and banana pudding. Next time you're up that way between Lake Lure and Grand Dads Orchard, please stop in. You won't be disappointed. Also, as update from something I saw in an older post, the now take cash or card🙂

Ooooo boy! Been hearing great things about Dreadlife Kitchen for a long time! We ordered both the smoked and also fried wings with Mango Habanero and BBQ sauces with Mac n cheese sides. The wings are HUGE! The wing sauces are thick and so flavorful. Award winning wings! Excellent Mac n Cheese! Delicious! All I say is wow! Carribean Soul Food. What cool place with great food! Great relaxing interior, it was spotless. I can see what the hype is about Dreadlife Kitchen. This place is fantastic! HIGHLY recommend this place, absolutely amazing! Award winning wings. Perfect service and staff. This place was featured on Foodnetwork! A Hidden Caribbean Soul Food Gem! We will be back! Thanks you and keep up the great work guys! You and your staff is appreciated

This is an amazing dining experience, the reason for 4 star service is that you order at the counter then they bring you the most mouth watering food you have had in a long time! First up was the loaded fries, covered with cheese and pulled pork , topped with a zesty barbecue sauce, an amazing blend that is a meal of it's own! Next up was the shrimp and grits, this is what I came for; mind you I drove 40 miles from Waynesville, it did not disappoint. You get a bed of the most consistent and well done grits in the south, topped with about 8 large shrimp and covered with a wonderful sauce that brings it all together. The owner is a beautiful soul, his personality and presence there is amazing! Overall this place is definitely a 10 out of 10. If you ever find yourself out near Ednyville, NC you must stop and give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

I took pictures of the wings and mac but I should've gotten the sweet potato cake because that's what I'm still thinking about. They're currently cash only, if you're unsure call before you go. Order @ the counter - mine was about 15 minutes wait and they'll bring it out to you. I got the hot honey garlic fried wings and they were very tasty. The sauce was glossy and sticky and slightly sweet, more like orange chicken, but I'm not complaining. The mac and cheese wasn't my favorite, but mac is a personal thing. The flavor was great, I just prefer a roux-based creamy cheese. The sweet potato cake was dense and a total flavor bomb. I'd take this over a pumpkin pie any day. And the cream cheese frosting was stellar. When I go back I'll try the smoked wings.

This was by far the best meal I’ve had all year, and the best wings I’ve ever had. This food is so good that it can single handedly cure depression. My husband was enjoying it so much that he kept doing this weird head nod of approval with each bite. The sweet potato tots and fried corn were both incredible, service was good & everything was reasonably priced. I’m still full from dinner and already want to return to try more on their menu
