Ruby Of Siam

The food here is definitely good, but what they struggle with is service. We came on a Saturday night, and they were severely understaffed. There was a line at the door for pick up orders, and we were told upon sitting down that if we don’t immediately put our orders in we’d have to wait 30 mins to be served. All tables were occupied and there was one server (I think he might be the owner or manager?) trying to take care of everyone. We both had a curry and it was lovely. The crab Rangoon is basically imitation crab rolled in spring roll - it was tasty but definitely not what crab Rangoon is. Prices are reasonable.

Real authentic Thai cuisine, cooked and served by people who treat you like family whether you are a returning customer or just a one timer. I’m always greeted with a welcome back, and the food always brings me a sense of peace. It takes me away to a place I’ve never been and warms not only my belly, but my heart too. When the weather is too much for me, i can always get delivery and no matter how busy they are, my order is never delivered cold. Spicy or not, this is my favorite place To fill up on happiness and premier hospitality. If you like curry, this is the place.

We started with an order of chicken satay, which was just a little dry but no matter, the delicious peanut sauce solved that. Our entrees were flavorful and satisfying - the curries were appropriately spiced, and the pad se euw was wonderful. Great comfort food all around! Service was cheerful and attentive. HOWEVER, there were two little issues that affected our overall favorable impression of Ruby of Siam. First, there was an annoying abundance of fruit flies around our table. Second, the mens rest room was out of order, and the toilet in the ladies rest room was overflowing. All in our party agreed: we'd go back in a heartbeat because the food was really quite good. Here's hoping the fruit fly and washroom issues are resolved quickly.

If you’re looking for authentic Thai food look no further. The absolute most incredible restaurant with the most consistently creative dishes and the freshest ingredients . This is a family run business of almost 25 years, so get ready to be treated like family. My family and I have dined at their Skokie location as well and the food is exceptional. I see a few 1 star reviews and I can only say that these folks obviously were having a bad day and taking it out on this hardworking family business. 5 stars every time but please be aware the entire world is short help so be patient… I promise it will be worth it.
