Tug’s Proper U

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here on a Saturday night in December. Restaurant has a cool atmosphere. Apparently you can sit at a communal table or sit at a regular dining table. We chose the dining table option. We had a lot of questions and our server, along with the chef, were very helpful. We started with the primary salad. It is a good size salad, and we split it with both of us feeling we got plenty of it. I got the steak Frites. The truffle fries were delicious, and my steak was one of the best I’ve had. It was very tender and seasoned wonderfully. My husband got the salmon which he enjoyed greatly. We splurged and got the decadent chocolate cake, which is huge! Definitely shareable with probably three or four people. It was delicious, also. I would definitely recommend trying this place out when visiting Highlands!

Had been looking forward to a nice Espresso Martini for my birthday, but what I got wasn't even close! It might have been a Mudslide, which is okay, if that's what you want. But it's not okay if you're jonesing for a beautiful Espresso Martini! I drank it because I hate to be wasteful but it did kind of take the special off of my special day.

First time visiting the Highlands area and our first night we snagged a seat at Primary! Could not have been more excellent in every way…..atmosphere, service, drinks and food! We could only get a reservation for outdoors but since it was chilly we checked w hostess who offered us seats at the community hightop table indoors Kalley Martinez was our server and she was warm, friendly and the perfect level of attentive service. She gave great guidance on menu items and went above and beyond answering our questions about the local area. We hit the jackpot having Kalley as our server! My husband had the porkchop and I had the wagyu burger, which was probably the best burger I’ve ever tasted. Everything was cooked to perfection as we requested. Portions were good and our dinner, drinks and dessert were delicious! We loved the chic interior style of the restaurant! You could tell all of the staff members were well trained looking after diners needs. We would absolutely return to this restaurant on our next visit! Thank you for a memorable superb first impression on our first night in the area!

Stopped in for dinner on our short weekend trip. We split the Iceberg wedge salad to start - really yummy. I ordered the Painkiller for my drink ($14), great flavor. Can’t go wrong here. I could have drank four of them…. For our mains, I chose the Wagyu burger and my husband picked the NY Strip Sandwich. We both really enjoyed our meals. Finished with the carrot cake….Which did not disappoint! Good sized portions. Also, gorgeous interiors, which can make all the difference to an experience! Will come back if ever in the area again.

The food was delicious. I got the lamb, and I highly recommend it. This is not the kind of place that you are going to pop in for a quick bite. The server gives you time to enjoy your meal. You won't have to worry about being rushed out. However, if you're in a hurry, this might not be where you want to have lunch. I would classify this restaurant as a high end gastro pub.

First time here. Always good food in Highlands but this was just stellar start to finish. Great drink selections. Every dish was incredibly well prepared and tasty. Our group got steaks, pork chops and lamb and each one prepared perfectly and exactly how we asked. And dessert, oh man it was incredible. Cannot wait to go back. Dinner for 4 was $$$$ but again everything was fantastic.
