Porcini

Superb small restaurant with fantastic food and wonderful service! I really like BYOB restaurants too. Crab cakes, duck, and seafood pasta are my favorites. My family has enjoyed various fish dishes as well. Actually this is my favorite restaurant and I've been going every few weeks for a year since I discovered them!

Food was phenomenal! Bread to start was served warm and toasted. Had the Wild Boar Bolognese and the Wild Mushroom Pasta. Both were incredible and so fresh. They make their pastas fresh on sight and I absolutely love it when restaurants do that. We ended the meal with Tiramisu which was a perfect treat. Highly recommend and I definitely will be coming back!

I vacationed in Highlands this past week and after looking over all the local menus the one place I was determined to eat from was Porcini. The truth is even though you’re at the shore, seafood is seafood and I can prepare it simply at home for less money. I was looking for a place with artistry, worth shore town prices and that is Porcini! The scallops in sweet corn risotto were phenomenal, as were the clams with white wine, fennel and tomato. Also got the hangar steak, asked for rare and was served rare - in a to go order- which most places screw up. It was perfect. The desserts were spectacular, everything was great. Can’t recommend it enough. Excellent service as well. A highlight of my trip for sure.

Went to dinner last Saturday night after a long absence of not dining here and couldn’t understand why! Quaint BYOB family owned restaurant, with an excellent menu and numerous specials. The duck dish is exceptional and there was a Grouper Special that was excellent! Owners and servers were outgoing and friendly! The bread dish with olive oil and olives was a nice touch. This gem of a restaurant is back in my rotation! Priced fair for value!

This place feels like a home! John and Kendall and the rest of the team make this such a welcoming and enjoyable place to dine that you forget that you are in a public restaurant and not in your family’s dining room. The place is small yet cozy and comfortable. The food was delicious. They go above and beyond to ensure you are a satisfied customer. Great parking directly across the street.

Attended a communion celebration at this little restaurant tucked away on Bay Avenue in scenic Highlands. Was a lovely day, we were greeted by our waitress Vendal who helped us with decorating and getting everything set up. She took care of our every need through out the afternoon, making sure we had plenty of everything. She kept the buffet flowing and refreshed. We started out with antipasto accompanied by wonderful warm tasty bites of crusty garlic bread. Followed by a buffet of Garden salad, Quiche Lorraine, French toast, Chicken Franchise, Fettuccine Pomadoro, and fresh fruit salad!! Ended by salted caramel cake, coffee and tea for dessert! A lovely afternoon with family and friends filled with a nice atmosphere and wonderful food. A must to stop by and eat if you're ever in the area! Thank you Porcini!🍀💚☘

GEM IN HIGHLANDS! I absolutely LOVE Porcini! I found this restaurant a little over two years ago, and I been dining here every week ever since! This restaurant isn’t around the corner from me either! It’s around a 40 minute drive from my house, but the food is OUTSTANDING! I look forward to going week after week! Chef Chris who is the owner of this restaurant received an award for top rising chef in NJ! He makes everything from scratch from pastas, gelato, and house made desserts. All the food here is EXCELLENT! If I were to pick my favorite dishes I’d say my top picks are the veal over polenta, the crab cakes, filet mignon in a bernaise sauce, the herb encrusted cod in lemon garlic butter sauce, the New Zealand rack of lamb, the bronze encrusted swordfish over orzo, and the scallops! Ok I know I named a lot, but they are all just so good! You can’t leave here without ordering the cheesecake of the day either! It’s AMAZING! Some of my favorites are the s’mores cheesecake, peanut butter cheesecake, and the white chocolate caramel cheesecake! My favorite gelato flavors here are the cookies and cream and the Heath Bar crunch! He also makes the best chocolate cake I ever had anywhere! He sometimes has it as a special, and if he does order it! I love the chocolate cake topped with chocolate ganache stuffed with peanut butter mousse! I still wish he would add a chocolate cake of the day to the dessert menu! The service here is excellent, and they are very accommodating! As long as he has the ingredients on hand he can make it for you! Portions here are generous as well. Chef Chris wants all his customers to leave happy! I’ve dined everywhere, and Porcini is simply the best! I highly Recommend dining at my TOP PICK restaurant Porcini!
