The food is absolutely unforgettable! My children always ask to go eat there. I'm salivating just remembering it! It is located in down town Hood River on the path of the Hood River stairs. It is a regal building that upgrades the Hood River scene with it’s charm. The building has become an iconic presence in the small windsurfing town. The restaurant reflects the building’s style by offering a refined menu that will delight the most sophisticated pallet. Yet, the atmosphere is grounded with years of worn-in wood floors and brass detailing. It feels like a warm hug. Unfortunately this restaurant burnt down in 2019.

This place isn’t bad, but it could be so much better. If you call, you will get an answering machine asking that you leave a message if you’re making a reservation for a large party. I did that. And just for good measure, I stopped in and confirm my reservation a few hours in advance. When my party and I arrived, we were told no such reservation existed and the manager I spoke to when making said reservation had left for the day. We still ate here, and the food was decent. But the whole place needs some TLC and the layout isn’t exactly great. Good views though.

Good food and beer!!! Sadly their pub has some issues with the Game room. I went to play some pool but the “tip game” was very weak there. I like to use the pubs tips when I go play group pool but All 4 cues lacked a tip. Luckily the waitress was amazing with the tip game and accepted the male deficits while I made no shots! She made me feel better while patting my ego. Earned a bid “tip” and send me away happy. Improve you’re tip game 😝

We stopped in for dinner and had a nice time. I had the fish and chips. The cod was perfectly flaky and the tartar sauce was delicious. My sister tried a mixed drink and wasn't super impressed (I don't recall the name but I'll try to look it up). The wait staff did a fine job. Overall, I would go back for the food. I might look for something different if I want a really relaxed atmosphere (there was a lot of hustle and bustle, with waiters moving through our area to go downstairs, etc., but props to them for carrying all the food up a flight of stairs)!

The staff was super nice and accommodating. We were passing through on our way to a wedding and needed to get in and out quick. We mentioned that, when we entered and they gave us immediate attention. Great food and IPA. With the fast service we were in and out, within about 30 minutes. Couldn’t have been a better experience. Lamb wrap is a 10/10

The view, sure, is nice... but this is Hood River, it’s beautiful everywhere. Both of our menus were literally covered in stains, we sat ourselves, went to the bar to order for ourselves, the first chosen wine wasn’t available. The bartender had about 60 dirty glasses on the bar and was busy flirting with the waiter who also never cared. He stood with two drinks in his hand for over a minute chatting with her while talking over the drinks. (Gross) The place wasn’t even half full!!! Either the owner does not care or I feel sorry for him he can’t trust his employees to run a respectable business. Instead of dinner just ordered wings, two drinks and left (I watched her swirl my wine trying to get the bug out) Thanks but no thanks! What a shame the view and location could be amazing. By the way we are NOT picky customers!

I would give this place no stars if that was an option. I visited this establishment with 8 of my friends. The food was terrible! I ordered the chili & it was full of gristle as if they tossed in a bunch of old meat that should have been put into the garbage but was put into the chili. Two of my friends ordered the turkey legs & they looked like the size of chicken legs with this dry rub that was caked on it. The dry rub is just a bad idea in general. 2 other meals were sent back. One was cold as ice and the other was the open face NY steak sandwich with mushrooms but there were no mushrooms & barely any bread. It was a very sad sandwich. The other food was luke warm since they served the food in two rounds, leaving 2 of my friends with no food initially. The tuna sandwich was barely seared and looked completely raw. The food was nasty in general. The server said he couldn’t do anything for us except said have a great day or something weird like that. The owner finally showed up & she said she was sorry & offered us dessert. I told her the food was terrible and we won’t return ever. She didn’t really do much to salvage our business & should have offered a discount of some sort on our food. This restaurant needs help with their menu & cooking in general. As I mentioned, we will never return.
