Golden Rose

Waitress eyed us about 5 times, served 3 others who had waited less than us before finally taking our order....and then handed over an already OPENED Corona with a lime floating in it. When asked for one that wasn't opened she rolled her eyes and tried to explain that it wasn't a big deal. Only positives were that it's open late and the DJ was awesome....and if you like to party in old school Chinese restaurants then this spots for you.

There was a bar tender dressed like an elf. My shoes stuck to the floor. The velvet wallpaper feels good when you touch it. I’ve literally only been there one time. The bathroom could use some upgrades. I’m glad they got a new DJ. The new DJ is killa. I’d give it five stars if they let me have a drink on the dance floor.

This is based off of the DJ and not the restaurant establishment during the weekend nightlife. I went out for the night to dance and have a good time. I normally do not leave reviews and don't like talking people down but I feel it is warranted this time around. The older lady DJ came over to me and was extremely rude to me. Her attitude was completely unwarranted towards me and very harsh. She barked at me very rudely to stop playing with a very small led flow prop I had brought to dance with. Think in terms of a baton with soft ends that light up. Everyone around me was happily watching the baton while I spun it giving compliments about it because it has pretty lights. I had it out for one minute tops happily spinning in my own little bubble of space. So when she came over and barked at me in a very loud and harsh tone I was startled at first. I automatically stopped spinning my prop as she had asked me to and turned to talk with her calmly even though she had just rudely barked at me in a very angry tone. I tried to calmly discuss what it was I was spinning and also trying to inform her that these are normally allowed in dancing areas, clubs, bars and festivals. And that I have also spun the same prop here many times in the past as well as the other bars in Hood RIver and The Dalles with no problems. I wanted to find out why it was a problem now all of a sudden while not stepping on anyone's toes. She apparently wasn't even willing to listen to what I had to say. I didn't even get a the full sentence out before she very rudely and angrily threatened me that she was going to have the manager kick me out while she said I was trying to argue and disobey her. She was on a power trip of some sort. i had done nothing worth being threatened to get kicked out or to be talked to in such an abusive way. Firstly I would like to state I was very sober during this, and as for my character I was very calm and rational. I am not one to pick fights as i am a peacekeeper by nature. I would rather calmly discuss a situation and come to a solution. If there is a problem let's talk it out. As for the prop I understand where she was probably concerned as she is not aware of these kinds of props and it was busy that night. On another note, I was very aware of my space and made sure I was out of the way of the busy areas to make sure I stayed in my own dancing bubble even though the prop has soft ends to make it easy to play with. I just wanted the chance to actually discuss what was going on and instead I was instantly threatened right away without even being able to speak. So I did calmly and nicely tell her that her attitude was uncalled for towards me and that I was just trying to have a discussion with her and I was not trying to argue. That she did not need to yell at me or threaten me. She then rolled her eyes at me and turned around and stormed off before I finished speaking. Never have I been treated so rudely by a staff member in any establishment ever. Shame on her. I was fully willing to put my prop up if they did not want it there and I did as I accept the rules of all establishments. But the simple disregard, unfair treatment and unwillingness to actually listen and discuss with the customer the reasoning behind their abusive actions and the way they treated a customer off the bat was disgusting. After threatening to have me kicked out over nothing, I just left and I am never going back unless they replace the DJ to someone who does not disrespect and talk abusively and threateningly down to customers. Honestly they could do much better anyways as the music sucks every time I have been in there.
