There were definitely things that could have been done better. The food was just ok and the service was sub-par. None of the service people we encountered there made any effort to be personable or welcoming. The meh food was made worse by the total lack of care we felt from the staff. Oh well, the rest of Hood River is phenomenal.

When you go here you're going to feel like you're eating a step or two above casual -- and that's enough for some people. A restaurant in a converted house, accompanied by outdoor dining has allure -- and the prices will keep out the riffraff. The food is fresh and that's something to be proud of. However, a lot lf the dishes utilize a formula that is, IMO, a bit overplayed. Protein, mashed potatoes, ubiquitous veg, and an ample drizzling of sauce that dresses it up and lends character. So if you and your dining mate are the sort that like to order two different things and share/swap, you need to be selective, or you'll be eating much of the same. Everything was good, but, taken comprehensively, the menu didn't quite wow.

My husband and I stay in Hood River regularly we have wanted to to try this restaurant for a while and we were not disappointed at all. The food, service and atmosphere was top notch. I had the special of the day fresh Chinook Salmon delicious, and my husband had the Chicken Caesar Salad. Also we had the Shrimp and lobster cakes with a fantastic aioli sauce with a lovely bottle of Rose. Our server Sarah was very attentive, we will be back!
