Had an absolute blast at Onion Creek! The food is delish, the drinks are great, and the atmosphere is an awesome vibe. There is also a really beautiful park about 1 block from here, so you can even go enjoy a stroll after you enjoy Onion Creek. I will ABSOLUTELY be back!!!

Good choice of local craft beer selection, steak was well cooked and there are some good food specials during the week.

First time here. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and there is street parking and parking lots available. We ordered a salad/bowl with salmon, 1 taco, and 2 drinks. The salmon was ice cold and the taco was too hot to eat but the taco was really good! We were forgotten about because we waited almost an hour for our food. People who came long after we did received their food before us. We’d go back to give it another try though.

Been coming here for 20 yrs now--pretty much since they first opened--and like all places they've evolved over time--generally for the better. Food has never been their strong suit and if anything, that's gotten weaker over time. I just ordered something that I've had dozens of times over the years--the Italian Goat pizza--and it was the worst it's ever been. It was never "really" a pizza... wrong bread... but this time it was literally just a hoagie type sandwich bun cut in half with some toppings on it. (Maybe they were out of their regular bread?) So it was essentially an open faced sandwich... pretty small... so, basically toast... with some dried up meat and some goat cheese on it... for $14? Come on, man. It's basically a small appetizer in a beer garden for what you'd typically pay for a burger and fries just about anywhere in town. For what I was brought out, $7 or $8 would have been about right. Not nearly double that. Sure, yeah, I know... "inflation"... but this was never an expensive dish to make... a couple of bucks in materials... so inflation can't really explain the high costs and low quality. The meat was more like beef jerky... stuck in my teeth for hours until I could fish it out with some floss. Not good. For ONE draft beer and TWO of these tiny, cheap "pizzas", the bill was nearly $40 with tax and tip. That's just crazy. So... I'm not gonna hammer these guys with a 1 star review for something this minor--overall I'm a fan of the business and wish them well--there aren't that many decent / proper beer gardens in Houston to begin with. But if they could just step up their food game--which has ALWAYS been weak--they could really be amazing.

Onion Creek is a charming and cozy restaurant located in the heart of The Heights neighborhood in Houston. This restaurant is known for its delicious menu items including breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. And I noticed that they also have crawfish staring at noon most days. I made my morning visit with a delicious breakfast dish in mind. I decided on the 6th Street Migas which is made with three eggs scrambled with tortilla chips, cheddar cheese, pico and queso and cotija side salsa verde & fresh flour tortillas. It all came with a side of black beans. I must say, I may have had the best migas I have ever had. The eggs are cooked to perfection, fluffy and moist. The tortillas chips add a nice crunch to the dish, and the onions and peppers add a burst of flavor. The warm flour tortillas are soft and fluffy, and they made for a great delivery system for the migas. The friendly service at Onion Creek is also to be noted. The staff was not only friendly and attentive, but also they made me feel at home. The atmosphere of Onion Creek is cozy and inviting, with a rustic decor on the inside and a large shaded patio outside. In conclusion, if you are looking for a delicious and satisfying breakfast, brunch, or anything else in Houston, Onion Creek is right in the middle of Houston. You gotta try the migas. You won't be disappointed.

I truly enjoyed the vibe here for my first ever brunch. I was able to have Houston with me in a comfortable environment that allowed us to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. The chicken and waffles was savory and sweet. The breading on the fried pickles was seasoned perfectly and balanced with the ranch dressing. I will definitely be adding this restaurant to my favorites.

I was there for a Sunday afternoon brunch. Lots of locals and a very diverse.crowd. I had the hamburger...very good taste and not over grilled. Service was order at the counter...no table service and you poured your own drinks. There is a bar with alcohol available, and the drink prices were very reasonable, as were the menu prices.

Onion creek is a (not so hidden) gem. The menu has variety (burgers, tacos, pizza, sandwiches, wings, multiple vegetarian options), it has a large amount of rotating beers on tap, and most importantly - the best outdoor atmosphere of anywhere in the heights. It is good for brunch, lunch, dinner, or just drinks. It's family and dog friendly and the entire patio is either palm tree or terrace covered in shade. They regularly have live music that enhances the experience and is never too loud. It's become my favorite place to go with my wife and bring friends and family.
