Fu's Garden Restaurant

We've been coming here for over 30 years, but we had moved to the other side of town and haven't been back for several years. We were pleasantly surprised that the menu was the same and food was just as good. The wait staff is on their game and the food came out hot. The place looks exactly the same. I guess if it's not broke, don't fix it.

Fu's has been a family favorite for over thirty years, ever since we frequented their Rice Village location. The lunch specials are still worth the trek to San Felipe at lunch time, assuming you arrive when the food is hot and fresh. Don't go at 2 PM because you'll get chicken jerky. But show up at 11:30 when they open and it'll be a good dining experience.

Came here during lunch, very friendly and attentive service, plenty of seating. Like others mentioned, I did get a 90s vibe from this place. The food came out fairly quickly. I ordered the general tso chicken lunch special with wonton soup. The wonton soup tasted a bit off to me, but I don’t care too much for the soup since I came for the food. I found that the general tso sauce was very thick and almost sweet. Almost corn syrupy, but the chicken itself was good. The chicken tasted fresh, the sauce was a bit too much for me. I heard the person next to me order their chicken broccoli meal with the sauce on the side so I might try that next time. The fried rice was also good. Not my usual go to but thought I’d check this place out since I was in the area. Would probably come again but maybe order something else. The service was really good too, I liked the ambiance. Also, I love the ceiling tiles, very decorative.

It has a very old school, 90s Chinese restaurant aesthetic. Plenty of seats. It's been reliable in the 4 years I've been ordering from them. The owners are patient and diligent with orders. The food is flavorful and not too heavy. I usually get combination fried rice and a few egg roles. Only issue is parking. The strip center is small and some weekends can be busy enough to make it hard getting in and out.

I used to come here all the time in the 1990s and I thought it had closed. I just visited and it’s just as good as a I remembered it. The hot and sour soup is great and without pork. The entrees are large portions and I believe all the chicken is white meat only. It’s not the stringy rubbery chicken you see at some places. The spring rolls are large too. The service is fast and excellent. Overall a great place for quality Chinese food.
