Shakespeare's Pub

Great, unpretentious place that has excellent Houston blues every night. We really enjoyed Sparky Parker Band on a Monday night. We sat at the bar, with few patrons inside. We were served a few drinks and then the barkeep disappeared, returning to provide the check, not requested. Guess it was time for guests to go!

A good dive bar. Have been there many times on Friday and Saturday nights and will go back. All ages attend and older aged couples are there almost always. Bar and table seating is available. Blues music (???) on weekends by a different band each night. Bar tenders aren't attentive to customers wanting to purchase a drink. Parking is limited (and has been for years). As I said, I like the place but the management seems to be satisfied with the status quo and I don't foresee the two negative issues I mentioned being rectified.

This is my favorite place to hear blues in Houston. It's a little pub, tucked away in a small strip center. Casual atmosphere, drink specials and no cover weeknights until Friday. Tonight I saw The Tony Vega Band who has been appearing each Wednesday. Smokin blues guitarist and singer. Really tight combo with a great bass player and sharp drummer. If you want a fun night out try Shakespeare's Pub.

Best 'dive bar with music every night' ever! Good beers, good people, good music, and always a good time. A favorite spot in Houston, for this Chicago Blues guy, that I will visit anytime I am down here. Last night, I got to see and hear a note for note set of classic Jeff Beck material that was really, really good! You never know what you are going to get at this place other than expecting it's sure to be good.
