Truth Bbq

Came here because I saw tater tot casserole but ended up getting so much food and it was GOOD! The service was incredible, they helped me get the best bang for buck and the eating area was super clean which I appreciated! They kept the sauce bottles full and plenty of napkins, had such a great time and highly recommend!

Arguably the Best Barbecue in Houston! That being said my favorite is the original Killen’s in Pearland which is technically not in the Houston city limits. Now, I have to say that I was disappointed that they didn’t have a beef rib on the menu! Maybe only on special days???? Brisket and Beef ribs are the Texas BBQ staple and how everyone should enjoy and judge Texas BBQ. Everything was phenomenal, but what really stood out above any other Texas BBQ spots, is the sides! Every single side I tasted was good. It doesn’t matter what you pick, it is likely better than you have ever had at any other BBQ spot in Texas. Corn Casserole, YES! Yes there was a line out the door and yes we waited 45 min. It was 100% worth it. In fact, they serve beer and drinks while you wait in line.

People say this is the best BBQ in Houston, I'm not sure how much that holds up just yet as it's my first BBQ place in Houston so far. The wait wasn't too bad, the anticipation helps with building an appetite. The worker was very kind and there were so many sides to choose from. At the end, past the cash register is a display of cake and it's beautiful. The brisket was good, it wasn't so tender that a fork is all that's needed to eat it but it was still tender. The sides were all amazing. The Mac and cheese, potato salad, brussel sprouts, and coleslaw was very good. There's a lot of seating and you leave your plate at the table. Theres two bottles of sauce at every table, one BBQ and the other honey mustard. They have a cute wall behind the counter with stickers and I even spotted a Hutchins BBQ sticker. There's merchandise and generally overall has good vibes.

Truth by name, truth by nature. Simply awesome BBQ. Get there early (by 10:30 for a 11am opening) to secure your choice of meats and sausages and beat the crowds (there were more than 50 people in line by opening time…). The 3 meat combo was perfect for a large meal with two sides. Favourites were the brisket (of course) and jalapeño and cheese sausage with sides of brussel sprouts (yes - they are good!!) and their famous tiny tot casserole.

Came here for the brisket… left thoroughly impressed with EVERYTHING. Brisket, Ribs and pulled pork were all better than I could make at home, and I thought I was good at it! The sides were fantastic: Mac and cheese, corn pudding, beans and tater tot casserole were all top notch. We loved them all. The banana pudding is out of this world. If you think you don’t like banana pudding like I did, try this one. It was a surprise winner.

2nd best BBQ I had in Houston. Small line before they open which is a good sign. Really good food, didn't have one thing that wasn't top quality. Solid smoke flavor on everything. Get the meat sampler platter to try everything, Turkey was very moist which is a hard thing to accomplish with traditional BBQ. Deserts are very good as well.

Truth BBQ = Quality Score! After encountering SOLD OUT on our first visit. We finally got to experience The Truth. And the barbecue is very good. Got the Texas Trinity (Brisket, Ribs, &Sausage) with Brussel sprouts and Tater-tot casserole. Everything was exquisitely delicious and cooked to perfection. From the moment you get in line to the moment you leave you are treated as the most important person. The crew is absolutely incredible from the meat trimmer in the window to the cashier and everyone in between. The customer service here is extremely on point. It is clear here the crew loves their customers and the environment. I seriously cannot say enough about the quality of service conveyed at Truth BBQ. Truth BBQ = Quality

Truth BBQ was definitely a good place to go for a visit as a tourist. We wanted some good BBQ and were willing to wait and had time to kill on a Saturday. So we got to Truth at around noon and waited nearly two hours. It’s definitely one of the best bbq I’ve had in Texas. I’d only go if you have time but I personally enjoyed it. Even the leftovers were great!

First time at Truth to celebrate my dad for Father’s Day. We’ve been to a lot of barbecue places around the state of Texas, and each has been amazing in their own right. However, Truth blew our minds. Perfect brisket, ribs, Turkey, and sausage. And they didn’t fall short on the sides either. Just as much taste was in the potato salad and Mac & Cheese as the bbq. It’s great to see the owner in the restaurant too, putting so much care and hands on work into the food. Only waited in line about 45 minutes, but honestly, the line is part of the Texas barbecue experience - drank some beers and had a good time anticipating the food. Can’t wait to go back!
