Hopdoddy Burger Bar

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The double bacon jam burger was amazing. The hot honey and sage fries were good. I wish I would’ve had them hold the pepper flakes but still great. My mom had the classic burger. She also said it was delicious. We will definitely be back when we are in Houston again.

This is one of my absolute favorite spots for food and a drink. There’s a large bar area and tables to the sides with quite a bit of outdoor patio seating for when the whether isn’t hot enough to boil concrete. The patio seating especially is really popular for people with kids. The food is absolutely top notch and the only times I didn’t like what I ordered was because of my own tastes (the Buffalo Bill burger has blue cheese on it and while I don’t like blue cheese, it was still well-balanced enough that it was still okay). Burgers are also available as salads for the carb-consious which I sometimes get and always enjoy. They also do a rotating menu item every month and they tend to be pretty different from one another so it’s tough to get bored. Probably my favorite menu item is the Roosevelt burger that tastes like the wilds of Wyoming; they really knocked it out of the park with this one! There’s a number of beers on taps and a respectable selection of cocktails and a few frozen drinks as well. The service is always great and while it takes a bit longer during really busy times, it’s never an unreasonable wait. The staff are always super nice and knowledgeable. Overall a 5/5 would recommend. Visit soon!

I was stuck doing test at the doctor's office that was going to keep me in the area for most of the day. I decided to grab a quick bite between tests. I don't venture to the Rice Village often, so I relied on my internet friends that share reviews in order to find a good burger. THANK GOD THAT I DID!!! The food was great. I wanted a good burger; I got a GREAT burger. I ordered a small fry. The sign said "sharable". Come on, who really shares an order of small fries? They were not kidding. The fries were a generous portion, made from scratch and just the right about of coarse salt put these fries over the top. I did not have anyone with me to share with. I was forced to eat most of them myself. It broke my heart to leave some behind. And can we talk about the burger? OMG. Seriously, Oh. My. God. it was just the small burger. That doesn't sound so spectacular, but wow. It was seasoned so well. The toppings were fresh and delicious. Forget about the name "small burger" in was clearly a medium burger at the least. Now every time that I go to the doctor, I will have to add a stop for lunch. I am a customer for Hopdoddy Burger Bar from now on!

We had a really great experience at Hopdoddy today. We ended up parking by the Banana Republic store and this is just around the corner from there. The restaurant was nice and clean as well as not too busy for a Sunday afternoon. We ordered the green chili cheese fries. I really like that the cheese sauce comes on the side so you can dip or pour over the fries. Helps keep the fries crispy if you just dip. The basket of fries is huge! Too much for 2 people, more like for 3 to 4 people. The burgers were on point as well. We had the ones with cheddar cheese, fresh jalapenos, and we asked for the bbq sauce on the side which was good because it was so strong it would have overpowered the burger. We had a margarita and a beer as well. The beer came in a large goblet and was ice cold. Great for the 105 deg weather! Highly recommend this place if you're a fan of great burgers and cold beer.
