Super-tiny, low-maintenance and quaint on-campus rathskeller is about one thing - stressed students unwinding on cheap beer. Do not come here expecting anything approaching a truly professional experience. Also, there's a community of regulars that kind of dominates the conversation of the place. Remember that you're on a university campus in the city, so you'll need to pay to park. There's outdoor seating if you can stand the mosquitoes.

It is always fully crowded as its within Rice campus. No free parking available, u need to pay for it. I Paid $12 for a few hours only.

Good cheap beer and a bar like no other in Houston. I think the people who leave bad reviews don’t understand this is a bar run by graduate students serving beer at cost keeping a tradition alive.
The people and staff are super friendly. Don’t expect cocktails or anything fancy. But do expect a good time, low prices, and a bar like no other.

This is a nice quaint cash-only bar with cheap drinks! Operates at cost and managed by Rice grads – it keeps a lot of tradition in the family. The bartenders are very friendly & outdoor seating has nice ambiance. I just wish the parking situation was better. Definitely come here if you don’t mind a 10-15 minute walk from nearest parking.
