Burger-chan

Saw this place on a Facebook post. Decided to try it because of the post. Place did not disappoint. I got the Swiss mushroom burger with curly fries and a chocolate shake. Food was very good it did not disappoint. It did take about 20 min but it was cooked right when you ordered it so great food will take some time. I paid about $23. However I was in Houston so I expected it. Staff very friendly. I can't wait to go back to Houston to go here again. Hands down I would say one of the best burgers I have had in a very long time. Keep up the excellent work.

I heard about this place from a Youtuber and decided to visit this place when I came to visit family. I read several reviews while checking recommendations as well. I also saw Burger-chan on Yelp, too. I knew exactly what I wanted when I walked into this local place. I chose the sweet sourdough bread, 2 oz patties, cheddar cheese, bacon, over easy egg, bacon, pickled jalapenos, and sambal mayo. The food was worth the drive! BYOB is their specialty and I love the burger! I had Vietnamese coffee a few times. It is usually sweet when I experience it. But this was strong! Definitely a pick me up drink. I actually prefer this brew. I'm already thinking about what burger to make next and getting loaded tots. Milkshake options are interesting: black sesame, corn, horchata, green tea. You can get beer, too. Keep it up, Burger chan!

This is a new experience for me. Enter the restaurant, select the clipboard that has the food you want for that day (pink for hotdog, blue for fried fish, green for falafel, yellow for grilled chicken, and white for burger). Use a marker provided to indicate on the piece of paper. There are many ingredients that you can add on, and you can also choose to have buns or not. After which, bring your paper to the cashier to order and pay. I had the brioche bun with the 2oz patties (kid size), added Swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms and onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and scallion aioli. I also had the curly fries as my side because of the difficulty to find curly fries at burger places. I love the milkshakes they have to offer (scan the barcode at the clipboard area to look at the drinks menu). I ordered the black sesame milkshake. I love everything in my burger. Ingredients were fresh and everything I ordered went well in my burger. Super delicious. The curly fries were very good too. I would have it every time I am at the restaurant. The black sesame milkshake was so fragrant, and the black sesame taste hit me right on my first sip. So so good. I love the spacious eating area in the restaurant. They have a big dining area outside the restaurant too. The restaurant’s operation is efficient thus customers do not have to wait long for their food. Burger-Chan is definitely one of my favorite burger places! P.S. Burger-Chan is located on a one-way street. I was at a different side of the traffic thus I had to make several turns just so I could turn right to the restaurant.

Came here with some coworkers who highly recommended this place. The burger business is saturated, so standing out is tough. For a place that makes burgers fresh like Five Guys, Shake Shack etc, I have to say that Burger Chan beats them all. While not the tastiest burger on the planet, I'd pick their burger over the previously mentioned because it's tasty but not overbearing, not too greasy, and they give you more than enough toppings. I had the swiss mushroom burger at 5oz. It was a good burger. I also had the curly fries and lemonade. The fries were good and the lemonade must have been made by the little boy from House Party. It had A LOT of sugar in it. They also have adult beverages, but I had to go back to work. Overall it's a cool spot for burgers. I recommend ordering ahead though because the burgers are freshly made.

Edit: keeping my older review since the points still stand, but the chef-inspired burgers are definitely a cut above. I also tried the black sesame milkshake and it was delicious. Not too sweet, which means they're not covering up bad flavor with sugar ;) It was okay, but since you make your own burger, I might've just gotten the wrong combo of stuff. I did like the double 2 oz since I prefer a thinner, crisper patty. But the flavor and thousand island sauce was just okay, especially for the price. The fries also had a frozen taste/texture to it, which I know is some people's preference, but it's not for me. Overall, they're not a first choice, but I'd go back again to see if other menu items are more appealing.

Fantastic, personal service that might even take you by surprise, and the customizable menu makes it so easy to get just what you want. And the best part about that is all of the options are top quality! This place is one of the easiest decisions for lunch, with or without the family! Don't sleep on those soy serrano peppers!

Came here with a friend for the first time on Sunday, 04/30. You have to customize how you want your burger (or whatever you're getting) by filling out a form on their small clipboards. They make everything fresh. You can even see them making the food in the back. They have plenty of seating inside and they even have outside seating. I got a double 2 ounce burger on a brioche bun with regular burger toppings and pepper jack cheese. I also added bacon and charred jalapenos. My burger alone was $12.75 and my side of curly fries was $3.50. The food was A1! My burger was delicious, hot, fresh, and well seasoned. My curly fries were hot and fresh as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! The only thing I'd say is their brioche bun could be a bit softer; it didn't really give me that super soft, sweet, doughy, melt in your mouth brioche feel, it just tasted like a regular hamburger bun. Everything else was a 10/10. I'll definitely be back.
