Taco Cabana

Had to wait on an order at a nearby restaurant so when I saw that the drive-thru was open (and empty!), I ordered a veggie cabana bowl without the cheese or sour cream (I was politely asked about those two items). The drive thru cashier and cook were very nice and included sides (jalapeno and hot sauce), so no 'F ups' at the drive-thru whatsoever 😅. The attached photo shows how I enhanced the bowl with rotisserie chicken mixed w/salsa, cilantro, spinach and spices. Thank you Taco Cabana for offering a veggie bowl for under $5 👏. The other restaurant lost out on a purchase - they did NOT inform me of their '$6 add on entree'; I ordered a to-go entree w/salad and breadsticks for $22 and change 🤔!

I do like this Taco Cabana, but it’s not as fun as it used to be. I’m still happy to go to other Taco Cabana restaurants, but this one closes at 10, and doesn’t serve breakfast all day, unlike certain other Taco Cabana locations. I really like their breakfast. That said, while I genuinely DO want Taco Cabana to expand to new locations, this is the only Taco Cabana that should honestly shut down in favor of a Dairy Queen. I would love for this to become a Dairy Queen, because I miss having Dairy Queen close to my house. Taco Cabana still makes great food, though. It’s just that this should be a Dairy Queen, like I said.

I work near here and pass this place maybe 30 times a week. We had just left the Houston Zoo lights and thought to get some food on the way home. We wanted Mexican but real Mexican and didn't have time to sit down in a restaurant and eat. The food was great, service was kind and swift and the pricing is more than fair. I've already gone back 2x, after passing this place daily for 2 years while driving for work I'm now wondering why I waited so long to try it. If you're hungry they won't disappoint! Pictured is the grande kickin' nachos with all the meats you can get on it. I ordered : 2 chicken fajita tacos 2 beef fajita tacos 1 grande kickin' nachos with all 3 meats Total came out to just under $30. I ate some tacos and nachos the next day as well so it fed 2 people 2x for 30 bucks that's like 15 for each meal for 2 people.
