Hartz Chicken Buffet

Everything we order here is always fried fresh! We don't mind the wait because we're going to get something piping hot and comforting. The fried chicken here doesn't get the props it deserves. It's way BETTER than its competition. It always reminds me of a mom & pop fried chicken restaurant. The food is prepared and served with so much care. The fried okra are the BEST in the Houston!

Having frequented the franchise for years, I can readily say this Hartz's is one of the good ones, in comparison to other locations. The fried fish here is the star of the show in my opinion, -extra crisp -hot -thick pieces that are undeniably fish Fried chicken is tasty here too, though if you're expecting it not to be greasy you're in the wrong place. The rest of their menu is as you should expect of a buffet at under 15 dollars (at the time of writing) Mashed potatoes, rice, gravy, fries, "salad" bar that is actually just a condiment bar for most, all are of passing and palatable standard, undoubtedly from bulk or food-service quality that is akin to Texas public school lunches.

I am not originally from Houston so I did not try this place right away. But I must say I am impressed with the flavor!! However the customer service experience can be better. I have tried 2 locations and it must be a trend. The food is good (a bit pricey) but what if just that is not enough to bring the customer back..
