Ember

This place absolutely delivered in every phase. This might have been the best burger I’ve ever had (shocking in an airport I know). It was perfectly cooked medium rare, and the post oak flavor is elite. Oscar, one of the waiters, is top notch as well. Very friendly, expedient service, delicious food— I would give Ember more than 5 stars if I could.

The food was good for airport. My only draw back is the ordering process. Everything must be done online by you and if you're having issues with your phone or older and not phone savvy, your order could be delayed and you must keep in mind your flight time frame. Never the less, they do try and get the food out timely. I would go back.

I got the NY Strip, and it was delicious! Perfectly cooked over an oak wood fire, tender, great flavor, and nice size. I will definitely get the NY Strip next time I am at this airport. I'm glad I didn't didn't pay attention to the negative reviews. This place is clean with fresh cooked food. Good spot, especially for an airport. Yes, like everything at the airport, it is a little pricey, but I left feeling like it was actually worth it. Can't beat a good steak when traveling all day.

Alright. I’m giving this place 4 stars. The main reason for the high rating is because of the seating. I’m not talking about the main dining area, but the annex area next to the windows. It feels like a lounge and it was so nice to be able to sit somewhere spacious with access to food and drinks. I was able to chill there for 3 hours without any disturbance, outlets a plenty. In terms of the food and service itself, more like 3 stars. My sandwich was missing the tomatoes, and when I asked a waiter about it, they went back to the kitchen. Took them almost 15 minutes to come back to tell me they’re all out. Would’ve been nice to know earlier…

I had no issues with this restaurant. The Turkey club was very good and I found the service to be equally as good. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. They’re working with an ordering system (like every restaurant at this airport) that seems to be cumbersome so maybe that’s why some people have complained about wait times, etc. shoutout to Victoria S. Who helped me navigate through my airline voucher issue. She’s a great bartender.

I had the shrimp arugula salad which had a decent amount of shrimp but more importantly was dressed accurately. I almost ordered a second because the dressing cut against the bitterness of the arugula exactly. In addition the shrimp and what I think was avocado played well texture-wise. This was an expensive salad no doubt but not crazy. The cocktails were the same as any high end cocktail bar, which this place basically is. Well done I've marked this as a place to relax when again at HOBY.

This is the first time I've ever eaten something at an airport that I'd happily eat again at an actual restaurant! got their arugula and avocado salad with shrimp and it was super fresh and absolutely delicious. Tomatillo vinaigrette was just right and they didn't drown the salad in it either. shrimp were big and perfectly cooked! -- Edited to add I came back on my return trip through Houston and this salad was perfection the second time too!
