This place offers a variety of choices for soul food, Caribbean, and African. The owner is very friendly and hospitable. He told us a lot about all of their choices they had. The wifr and I tried the oxtail. It came with beans and rice, plantains, and a salad. The beans and rice were tastey. The plantains were lightly friend, just enough to still he a little crunchy. The oxtail was very savory and flavorful. The meat was deliciously tender, and went great with a scoop of the beans and rice. They have a lot of choices for the salad dressings. All in all, a great place. This is a restaurant this area was missing. We look forward to their grand opening, to see what their whole menu will look like!

I had the oxtails and jollof and tilapia and jollof via Grubhub. This was my first time ordering this type of cuisine. Jollof reminds me of jambalaya minus the pieces of sausage, chicken and shrimp yet it taste of meat flavoring and tomato. I would have liked more sauce with the oxtails and fish. I was expecting some pepper sauce or something too but I bet it's more of a dine in experience.

I was able to go today for a soft re-opening. The owner was gracious and friendly. He only had African/Nigerian food available today which was fine with me. Seafood should be available next week, but I recommend calling ahead to check if they are open. I had Egusi with Fufu and my wife had Tilapia with jollof rice and plantains. Both were delicious and well seasoned.

Nice family size. Enjoyed my bitterleaf soup. Took Egusi home. Nice. nice like home made quality egusi. Not the usual public restaurant OILY egusi. I noticed that The egusi is not oily ….just traditional and authentic. So, those who don’t understand the difference between real African quality and restaurant quality may not feel it. This is healthier . We r going back.
