Came to the George Payne this Sunday for a proper roastie in the sun! The food was delicious, black pepper beef was amazing! Staff lovely as always

We pre booked for the Scotland vs Ireland game, service is super fast and big place for big groups we had 23 for our stag do group had a tab for £500 felt like it was bottomless.

Opted for the George Payne as we fancied some hearty warming food! What a choice. Warm, friendly welcome, chilled atmosphere. Great choice of real ales too. The star of the show was the absolutely devious home made pie. My goodness. Absolutely just what we wanted it to be. Crispy shortcrust wrapped round a homemade pie. Cream my mash, fresh cake, roasted carrots and parsnips, the thickest delicous gravy and a dollop of French mustard. 10/10. Piping hot. Will be back for sure. £13.95 well spent. Thanks to chef Dave :)

Had the most fantastic Sunday roast which we booked last minute for Mother’s Day. Food was excellent quality and loads of it. Service was so friendly and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this pub for food, service and ambience. It’s a hidden treasure.

Paula was amazing!!!! Super fast service and super easy to talk to! She took our order so fast and made the drinks even faster. Made the GP experience worth it!!

Had a really nice roast here. The potatoes were not great, they were a bit dry and hard. but the rest of the roast was delicious. I had the 3 meat roast which was really good, but I did envy the pork that my friend got.
The service is really nice and they are all so friendly! We took 3 toddlers and a dog, and they didn't butt an eye at the chaos we caused

Very friendly community pub. Attentive staff. Very relaxed ambience. Delicious menu. Chef really understands how to make roasties. Good selection craft and other beers. Specials menu at discount certain days. Open wood fire. Returning at earliest opportunity

Was here on vacation. Great vibe. Our server Julia was awesome. Even during the Liverpool vs Arsenal game was willing to change a tv to accommodate my wishes to watch the final week of NFL and put on Red zone. Who would have thought I’d be watching American football in Barcelona.

Visited for a Sunday roast and was so impressed! Food was delicious, we were found a spot even though we booked last minute.
The service was brilliant. The pub is beautiful. Am looking forward to coming back again soon.
