Richard's Cafe

Had the pleasure of having brunch at Richards today with my daughter and her friend - have eaten here before and loved it - have to say , the lovely scottish lady who works there is simply THE nicest , happiest person you will ever meet - OMG - she could not do enough to make sure we were all happy - she even hugged my daughter and her mate when we left . She seemed to know so many customers and went out of her way to move tables to accommodate bigger groups that came in - nothing was a hassle! Have never been served by such a lovely and attentive person - EVER ! I had the breakfast bap (minus egg) which was epic - she even came back to me after I ordered to see if I maybe fancied a hash brown in it instead of the egg to make it more exciting - bless ! Food was bloomin lovely (My daugher had the Brie and bacon panini and her friend had a chicken and bacon panini which they both said were amazing !) but its the service that will now make Richards my Go To cafe for brekkie - kudos to you all ! You made the 3 of us just smile with your infectious happiness and care . xxx

Stopped by with my daughter on a whim for brunch. Never heard of the place as I dont live in Brighton / Hove. Having read some of the reviews before writing this, this lady has written pretty much what I would.... take it away Charisse! The food was amazing, service impeccable and atmosphere warm and welcoming. The icing on the cake was Babs, the amazing Scottish lady who served us! She was so adorable, attentive and provided us with a wealth of information about the area, life in Hove and where to visit : places, eat outs etc. They should rename it ‘Babs Place’ as she is an invaluable asset to the business and draws customers in with her positive energy! Highly, highly recommend.

This place is an absolute gem! Successful in so many ways. The decor and ambiance are super cosy. There are just so many people serving so there can be no accusations of neglect. Barbara is so friendly- but then so is everyone. While we were sat there, a man was walking backwards out of the door praising the mushrooms. I ordered the eggs florentine and can honestly say I’ve never had better. This place goes straight to favourites. I hope they will always be there. Brilliant!

The minute you sit down in their cosy cafe, Babs the waitress will instantly charm you with her smile and Scottish lilt, she's human sunshine. Had their biggest fry-up, and my lord, it was massive, large delicious (clearly premium) sausages, 2 fried eggs (not oily), hash browns which didn't ooze oil, tasty fresh mushrooms and tomatoes, beans, toast and black pudding, it was so big the puddings came in a separate bowl! I've had a lot of fry-ups in my time, this is my favorite of all time. If I could, I'd eat there every day. Thank you.
