Waitrose

It's a Waitrose. A big one with a full range. Perfect for all your persimmon-infused goat curd needs :) OK, maybe not that. Yet. I go for the cheeses. And there's always something I find there that I've not found elsewhere. By the way look out for the premium priced versions of things in obvious places and then several aisles later the normal- (for-Waitrose) priced versions that are rather hidden away where you wouldn't expect them. If you are here for basics then you can save parting with a few extra bob if you're aware of this.

The cafe is friendly and has really delicious porridge. Often the version with rice is the only one left so they need to realise that whilst both types sell out in terms of their stock taking analysis the normal porridge sells out fast every morning. They would make more sales if it if they increased the number of those on sale. This is a well stocked, medium sized supermarket and is efficient and pleasant to shop in.

I'd give it 5 stars if they sold frozen avocado (yes, I know that is such a 'Waitrose' thing to say!). My favourite is the fish counter, whilst it's not on the scale of a Spanish supermarket it's much better than most in the UK. The store is more spacious than most; in some cases, by a country mile! Pricing is more competitive than is generally realised but my 'bottom line' is also determined by quality and shopping experience.
