Uptown Coffee House

Was looking for a nice afternoon coffee stop in downtown Howell with 3 other friends until I saw the mask restrictions on the front door. Welcome to clown world where the 'Vid can only get to you while standing in line. One positive is I found a great alternative coffee place I will be going to from now on! Sayonara!

I used to like this place in 2015-2019, until COVID. It's now January of 2022, and the owner still has a big sign on the door requiring people to wear a mask while they're entering and ordering. Why, exactly? Everyone at a table is maskless, everyone is breathing the same air, but wearing one while standing up somehow helps? No government action requiring this. No other business in town does this anymore (that I've seen), just this one. And a sign that says "don't argue with employees", presumably because it makes no sense to anyone so they all ask about it LOL. Totally bizarre, and I won't give them my money again until it changes.

Rude, rude and rude. You would figure that if you’re a shop owner serving a mediocre (at best) and overpriced cup of coffee you would at least treat customers with a little gratitude; I haven’t been directly affected by this but I have seen the owner of this shop scream and yell at customers on multiple occasions while drinking my coffee for such petty things; I have never seen anything like this. I have had it… this shop’s owner is so rude that I’ll take my business and my money elsewhere and at the very least to a coffee shop that doesn’t make its customers feel weird and uncomfortable while just enjoying a cup of coffee — proceed at your own risk.

Uptown Coffeehouse is so welcoming and cute! I've been coming here for a couple years to study, hang out with friends, or just grab a quick coffee after long nights, and it's always felt so homely. Nat, one of their employees, has been so sweet to my girlfriend and I and we always just love to come here on Sundays because she just makes our day and leaves us both smiling. 😊 Their prices are completely reasonable and I highly recommend getting their frozen drinks and tea for the summer and enjoy their indoor seating area or to walk around downtown!
