Golden House

Superb! We are new to the area and this place came highly recommended. I grew up in an area where authentic Chinese cuisine was the norm. I have found it here! We ordered “big” this evening as we wanted to fully experience what this restaurant had to offer. It did not disappoint! The pan-fried dumplings were obviously hand made and incredible. The fried rice is so authentic and the almond chicken is the best I have ever had. The cherry-on-top to this experience was the extremely kind service—from the phone order to pickup, I felt valued as a customer. We will be customers for life!

Horrible customer service. Called for take out order. Ordered everything, was put on hold twice to take another person's order over the phone. Repeated order again. Was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. Get there, half of the order was missing. Was told it would be 10 more minutes to get the rest of the food. Waited again. Was told we were never charged for the missing food and had to pay again after waiting with the other food. No discount, no apology, nothing. This is not the first time we've had issues. Actually, I think there's always been an issue with something. (Missing food, given wrong order completely, etc..) But I've been patient because I understand short staffing and stressed out employees, pandemic, and mistakes happen. But this was the last straw. We will not be back and it's sad because it used to be one of our favorite places. It's really gone downhill.

Update: I cant believe it's not butter! 😵‍💫 The waitress was nice but honestly the food was terrible. No flavor only overwhelming taste of garlic and butter. No seasoning. Chicken was tough and flavorless too like it was quick boiled. The sauce was like watery gravy in the almond chicken.The rice was decent but the egg rolls were surprisingly pretty good. This was my first time dining here but this not worth a second trip. Or even a first.

I struggle with giving this two stars, but technically the place is bad for what they're advertising. I would very much call this the McDonald's of Chinese food. Sometimes you're in the mood for a McDouble, but that doesn't make it good. Same deal here - fast food quality. If it were advertised as such, this would be an easy 4 star review. They were very friendly, decently priced, and good portions. I'll probably even go back when I'm in the mood for bad comfort food. However, I can't lie, the food was bad compared to what I expect from a Chinese place...

My favorite Chinese place in Livingston county. Get their fried dumplings they’re the best I’ve ever had. You get a lot of them and they are cheap in price - great value! Honestly everything on the menu is a great value. Lots of food, good price, and the service is always quick. Edit 2020/21: still my favorite in the county, even the whole state honestly.
