New ownership? Place is cleaner and a lot of new staff. Some needed to go. But its always been a good experience. Fair priced meals. Big bake potatoes however have got smaller over time.
They are closed sunday thru tuesday so keep that in mind.

Friendly service. Excellent value for the amount of food you get. Do your self a favor and get the hush puppies. Chopped pork and ribs are excellent. My wife had the sliced beef and really enjoyed it.

This place blew me away with it's food. Great old-country atmosphere, racecar hanging from the ceiling, almost a cliche it was so good.
I got a full rack of St. Louis Style Ribs with two sides (you have to try the Spinach!) and Texas Toast for $19. Not only was it cheap, they were the best ribs I've ever had: I couldn't eat them off the bone because you would pick up the bone and the meat FELL COMPLETELY OFF THE BONE. I've never seen anything like it! Not only was it the best rib meat with the least amount of work but there was SO MUCH MEAT! I'd say 4 times as much meat as bone.
If my waistline could afford it I'd eat here everyday.
Only negative remarks, the wait staff (apart from my server) seem to be a bit down in the dumps, and they may not like each other very much, it was kind of hard to tell. Either way, my server was excellent, but all the others I observed could learn to cheer up a bit. But don't worry, you'll be so engrossed in your food you won't notice.

Just barely passible bbq. I would actually prefer Sonny's (which is not good either) Here are the half order of onion rings I bought. Glad I did not buy the 7 dollar full order. Also, they have BBQ sauces at the counter for to go orders and a few of them ended up being cocktail sauce. DISGUSTING

Lesson learned. I won't return. The coleslaw is pureed and doesn't taste like coleslaw. The pork is chopped so fine a baby with no teeth can eat it. No flavor. I had to add salt, pepper, and seasons to it. Like I said, Lesson learned. I won't return.

The portions and quality of customer service, specifically of the management (Tom) has deteriorated since Ron left…sadly. We have been regulars at Ron’s BBQ on SR52 in Hudson since we moved here in 2012. During this virus, we have regularly supported all the local restaurants we enjoy trying to help them stay open. We REALLY prefer not to do take-out but have been doing so anyway because we feel it is important.
Last evening, by son ordered a burger and my husband ordered the flounder special with fries - a $13.99 meal. My husband regularly orders the flounder special when we dine in and he has enjoyed consistent quality and portions, well worth the $13.99. When I arrived home, my husband’s meal had a baked potato instead of fries, and a half portion of flounder, more like a Long John Silver’s portion, definitely not worth the $13.99 price. I immediately called and asked to speak to the manager, and Tom got on the line. I told him the problem, that we got a potato instead of fries and the flounder portion was half the usual portion. I received no apologies from Tom, and a very sharp attitude. He told me to bring it back if I wanted a refund. When I told him he’d be getting an appropriate review, he told me I was threatening him.
I brought it back. Tom didn’t check the bag, didn’t even look at me directly, but just started showing the waitress how to process a refund. With the refund completed, still no apologies from Tom for all my trouble. Apparently, he had processed a full refund for both meals that I had purchased instead of just the flounder meal. I went out the door to my car and he came running out after me yelling that I had only brought back one meal…so I turned around and went back inside to again pay for the burger. He saw me standing there waiting while the waitress took an order for another customer for 4- 5 minutes. When she finished with this customer, she turned to him and said that she needed to charge me for the burger again. Tom told her to “just forget it, go ahead and give it to her…” I again reminded him he’d be getting an appropriate review and I left. Too bad, Ron’s used to be one of our favorites, but with the new management, his lack of proper customer oriented attitude and decreased portions, we will no longer be going to Ron’s BBQ on SR52 in Hudson.

Your response might be believable if it were your only terrible review. There are plenty of others who agree that quality, service and portions have gone downhill since Ron sold...while the prices have increased. The Fish Guy is a much better value for flounder, big portions, great quality and service...at a fair price.
