Sunny Side Up

I love a little diner experience...the smells, the chatter, the overall feeling of familiarity you usually feel. Walking into the place, the smell was pretty good...check! Took a few minutes, but a nice lady came to take our order, chatting very comfortably...check! But that's where it ended. Nearly forty minutes later, she returned with nearly burnt fries on the side of my wife's cold cheeseburger (resembled a microwaved frozen patty) as well as very burnt "home fries", which looked like someone put potato chips into a fryer until burnt, then plated them and dumped some cold onions on top, not to mention my chicken fried steak, with the cold, congealed sausage gravy on it. We literally stood up, let the gal know we did not want any of the food, offered to pay for our drinks (she did not charge us) and left. We were so hungry, and so looking forward to some good grub, but not today, and not at this place. ☹️☹️

This was our 1st visit.....been looking for a small mom and pop style place for good food. We got a homerun today. Great food Great service...Thanks Sandy Great attitude with all the workers we talked too. And will be a repeat customer. So that's a homerun. And a little side humor... When Sandy says she will get your check....stop her and tell her it's cash only.

Stopped in for breakfast. Wish I hadn't. Ordered coffee and apple juice. Had no silverware on table. 5 minutes go by, and waitress finally comes back to table next to mine. I ask for silverware so i can stir my coffee. She tosses a paper sleeve onto table, containing a fork and knife. No spoon. Used knife to stir coffee. Apple juice had an off taste. Definitely cheap brand. The $1.75 the small cup cost, probably paid for the whole container. After receiving my breakfast, eggs, kielbasa, and home fries. Food was very good. Waitress came by with coffee, and refilled my cup less than halfway. When she dropped off check, I had to stop her as she practically sprinted past my table to ask for a glass of water. I waited as she engaged in conversation with the regulars at the counter. After 10 minutes, I concluded that the water wasn't coming. When I checked out, she realized she had given me the wrong check, and someone else had paid mine already. This blew her mind, and she and another server had a meeting of the minds to figure it out. After somehow concluding that my breakfast came to $60, they realized that couldn't possibly be correct. They figured it out, and I thankfully made it out with my sanity.
