Fresh & Natural

County Market has been our place to shop for groceries for three years. I’ve found the produce fresh, the selections very good, the store clean, and the employees kind and helpful. Except for one rude woman who works the registers. Her name is Angel. A few weeks ago I was unloading my cart and lifted a 12-pack of 7-Up onto the conveyer. She immediately yelled “Put that back! I can’t be lifting those all day long!” Since I understand back issues, I said “It’s here now—but I’ll leave the others in the cart.” She insisted I remove the 12-pack from the conveyer. I figured she was having a bad day, and said no more. Today, I found myself in her lane again. While I was unloading my cart, I suddenly noticed that she was running the conveyer, and my items were spilling off the end into the bagging area, and several of my frozen boxed items were being crushed by larger items coming up behind them. I rushed up there and started bagging my items, while she saw what had happened but said nothing. At that point I decided not to engage with Angel but instead write a letter to the store manager. I understand staff recruitment and retention is tough now. But let’s just all try to be kinder to one another. If you’re in a customer-oriented job and can’t be pleasant, then find another job.

County market has what we need AND what we want, even green tea ice cream. See pic. Produce, bakery, seafood, and meat are always fresh and many varieties are available. Example; at least a half dozen types of ready to grill shishkabobs. See pic. Sushi, and it even meets my standards. See pic. Their coffee beans are good, and WiFi is free n fast.

I've been really frustrated about the lack of knowledge from the associates lately. You have an ongoing price tag on an item your staff knows nothing about. The deli area has been lacking customer service skills lately too! Over experience have been great. Thankfully because it's the only grocery store in town!
