Wm. Farmer And Sons

The Wm. Farmer and Sons experience was completely positive. We stayed for 3 nights in the Kemp room. It was equipped with a fireplace, claw foot tub, super comfy king size bed & all get decor. Very friendly staff. They definitely want to ensure your stay is comfortable. The restaurant was awesome from the food to the industrial vibe. A little on the pricier side, but hey weekend get away. The whole experience is recommended. It’s on the edge of town which might be a downside for some, but a stones throw from the train station.

Recently stayed here for a long weekend and had an incredible experience. The rooms are spacious and cozy. Ours was equipped with an electric fireplace and a claw foot tub. The contact-less check-in process was seamless and easy. You can text a 'butler' at anytime throughout your stay with any questions/inquiries (the response time was very quick). The warm and welcoming bar/restaurant on the main floor had phenomenal drinks and food. Everyone was friendly and personable. The property is also pet friendly. Cant wait to return

Great environment and great service— that’s the reason for my 4 stars....but the food wasn’t that great, much to my surprise. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things: I got the iron ranger cocktail, homemade biscuits & ham appetizer, the paparadelle dish and the apple crisp for dessert. It was all just very...meh...flavor was lacking. Not the worst I’ve ever eaten. But also, not life changing like I was kind of expecting for all the fervor written about this restaurant. Also, the apples in the dessert tasted metallic...I thought I was nuts at first or maybe the cutlery was imparting the metallic taste. But no—after much trial and error, I identified it as the apples. I couldn’t handle it after a few bites and just ate the crust and ice cream around it. My husband got the snail appetizer and frog legs and French tuck cocktail which he really liked, but he also agreed with me about the apples in the dessert. That night, we also got incredibly sick with dyspepsia and just overall GI discomfort. We’re thinking it might have been the dessert since that’s really the only thing we both ate a significant amount of together. I might give this place another try for brunch.

We sat at the bar ~5pm on Sunday 3/13/22. Reese the bartender was kind, knowledgeable, a true gentleman and a top-notch professional. The Hostess welcomed everyone who came through that door as though she had known them for years, which I found very unique and rather inviting. MEALS: We the Burger. It was awesome, big and tasty Be aware though, our CC receipt came back with an automatic 20% gratuity added. No problem for me because I read the receipt line-by-line as I do, but many may not and just pay, then tip on-top as there is a line to do so. Coming from the industry for just over 20 years, this is a deal-breaker for me. I think this seemingly small thing is quite the SHAM

First time I came to this restaurant a couple of years ago I fell in love with the local menu - my favorite dish still is the fried chicken sandwich even though it’s not on the current menu (yes I know fried chicken sandwich? Yes! ). It had the perfect crisp on the outside, flavorful, and moist on the inside. The vibe is homey and earthy. The constantly changing menu makes for a different treat each time.

Escargot was over cooked and all round very meh, chicken livers (which I normally love) had the weirdest texture and odd smell. The pasta was something you could get at Olive Garden with 5 pieces (tiny) old/frozen crawfish. Pork loin was meh but all the trimmings on the plate were well under or over cooked. Also was expensive for bad food. Only gets a couple of stars because the bartender made GREAT drinks, oysters were SOOOO fresh and delicious and the actually place was pretty cute. Go for a drink and some oyster.
