Arturo's Restaurant At Micosta

We stayed in unit 2 upstairs. It was private and had nice views of the garden. I guess we came at the right time as the garden was starting to pop with fresh strawberries and veggies. Steven was very warm and offered the garden to us to pick from. One of the three nights we were there my wife made a nice veggie medley with steak. The room was clean and comfy. It was a perfect getaway.

Charming. Really like staying in someone's farmhouse: host Steven grows quite a lot of fruits and vegetables right outside. Well-outfitted and spotless room, made COVID-safe by host. One thing, which could be a plus: it's a bit of a drive to the twee old section of Hudson. But the drive gives a sense of where you are.

The good: I was on the ground floor, and the room was comfy and well-furnished. Full kitchen, fully stocked with amenities (from coffee, sugar, creamer, teas, to any kind of kitchen pot/pan implement you could want), drinkable tap water, good wifi. The bad: though wifi worked well, there was no phone signal inside the room. Also, there was a family above me and the noise from their talking/walking was disturbing. The grounds are lovely; it's next to the owner's large garden and he will encourage you to pick your own of whatever you like.

A wonderful labor of love, Micosta Leisure Inn and Arturo's Restaurant are some of the most special places I've ever experienced. Beautiful country views, a gorgeous river running through it. Perfect and lovely - and everything you need to cook even a Thanksgiving meal in the beautiful in-room kitchen. Steve, the owner/founder, is one of the best -- and most caring -- hosts I've ever had the pleasure to encounter. And come hungry for Sunday brunch - it's all incredibly delicious. Homemade jams, pies, meat stews, omelettes, enchiladas -- all made with care and the best ingredients. Enjoy and give Steve a hug if you go. Just wonderful!
